Aside from any real benchmarking application the way I tell that things are faster is just by using it. So, there is a PERCEIVED increase in performance without a measured decline in battery life.
I've been in a hurry to flash before and have set up my phone without first installing the overclocking applications and then went <headslap> "oh, this seems slow" and realized I hadn't overclocked yet. Enabled OC and WHAM! things run much faster. (currently running great at 729)

The only thing about overclocking that has me hesitant is WHERE to install the files (which ones can be installed to the SD and which ones should be installed to the DEVICE). I would hate to do something wrong and have to start over with figuring it out lol

there's an OC Tool that does dynamic over/under clocking. I just installed that to the SD card so in case of no boot, I can pull out SD card and done.

LOL I had a slow moment Sly, ur Image is correct... I was in my text messages instead of e-mails LOL lets just call that a retard mistake. I use POP also, I just dont deal with all that exchanging & syncing
