I've been running 21885 for quite some time, and recently noticed that the charge light (amber LED) is not on while connected on USB while my laptop is on SLEEP mode. The port is powered, and my wife's Diamond (running other cooked ROM) does charge...

At first I thought my laptop was to blame, but now I'm sure it's the phone. I'm downloading the latest (21889) now in hopes that this will resolve the issue.

The charge light does come on while the PC is in the fully awake state. Oddly enough, while in sleep mode, when I connect the phone, it asks me if I want active sync, disk drive, or modem mode - so I know there is some communication between the PC and phone during sleep mode.

I did a hard reset - and there too the light did not come on while charging in sleep.

When the phone is completely powered off, and I plug it into the PC it DOES charge while the PC is in sleep mode...

I'm stuck.

If the phone charges when the computer is awake the computer may be denying it power in sleep mode. I believe usb shuts down in sleep mode but im not sure. Also, make sure the box under active sync in connections, which I believe says something like fast connect using active sync or something, is unchecked. Finally, sometimes my phone doesnt charge using active sync, see if, all other things being equal, putting the phone in disk mode works.

There is a setting under power Managment Advanced about USB selective suspend settings. You can try and disable this. I am running Win 7.

or u can also try to go to settings-system-power-then battery and see if u have the option box checked. if it is un-check it. not sure if thats ur problem but u can give it a try

or in ur windows mobile device center-- without ur phone connected go to mobile device settings- the connection settings and see what options u have selected

This my have something to do with active sync. With my device sometimes it drains the battery when connected to but that might be because I have allow internet connection while connected enabled . I think the person who said check the power management is going down the right path. If your wife's phone is still charging try using the usb port she is in if it works you will know if its the phone or the laptop....

found a post which seems interesting.. I actually got the cannot authenticate today after i have been using my phone..

Seems VZW should have put some info in their txt file so they know your capabilites & avoid issues with account setup

The Touch Pro 2 might need more power to charge and while in sleep mode it might be reducing the amount of power output. Look into the Power managment settings.
