Re: |RHODIUM CDMA|.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.- Energy -.¸¸.·´¯ * |Feb 12| 21916|28244 * Sense 20

Here is a DRM update

After extensive communication with tech support at Overdrive media, it seems we are at another dead end.

ODM's tech (Kevin) was very helpful and we even dug int the registry, but the final verdict was the Feb 12 build (and apparently most others) simply do not have the proper files to support DRM.

Its a shame that someone with more brains than me could not figure out what files are needed, cab then up, and be done with it.

Having said, I still have 1 hail Mary to try. I have been comparing the wmdrm.dll in the rom that has working DRM and it is larger than the one's in about 3 other rom's I have looked at. I can't believe it would be so simple as swapping a dll, but.........

My problem is I can't extract the dll. I have tried all the usually stuff to no avail, un-read only, copy to card, etc. Does anyone know of a simple way to extract a dll from the rom without corrupting it?

Finally, failing all else, I will continue to test new roms and hope we get lucky.

thanks guys I hear this Rom rocks by the way.
This ROM does rock! You should be able to find most of the basics here in the Energy ROM FAQ: http://wiki.ppcgeeks.com/index.php?t...nergy_CDMA_ROM After that, a quick search of the thread will often get you what you need. When both of those fail to provide an adequate answer, come back here and ask your questions. Completion of the first two steps prior to asking on the thread tends to result in a far more positive experience for everyone. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Yea, a bunch of complaints are rolling in about Feb. 1 ROMS. Haven't heard of it crashing like that, though... make sure to Task29 & all that good stuff, but not much else you can do... I recommend updating to newer ROM or reverting back to a more stable ROM (like 13.Dec 29005). As far as the C0okie icons... I had that issue, too... Comes along with other complaints about C0okie 2.0. That's why many of us are using version 1.8.5 or 1.7.1. HTH!

PPCGeeks FAQ, best place to start.
Specifically, Pre/Post ROM Flash.

For that reason, I do not use SPB/PIM... I use Microsoft MyPhone.
I used to be against all things Microsoft, but I've learned to not knock it 'til I try it

If you want to restore your contacts, just back up your pim.vol file located in the root folder of your device.. it stores all of your contacts and calender info... every time i go to flash I back up that file so that if I added any more contacts I will save them, it has become part of my flash routine... then after flash move this file back to root of device and SR.. all done...

Happy to report that after a full day of heavy usage, Feb 19th is solid so far. Not a single crash or need to reboot.

No warranty express or implied.

Umm we kinda need more information. This rom has multiple variants each with a different clock style. Depending on which variant you installed you will get a different clock.

The CHT roms will have this first type of clock
THe Energy and Reference roms will have the second type
The MaxSense will have the third type
The titanium will have the fourth.

Identify which type of clock you currently have and compare it to the pictures on the first page.

You mean defeating the protection and unlocking the phone and then downloading a ROM from some website and overwriting all the data on my phone has no warranty. Wish someone had told me that sooner.....

Nice to hear. I would like to see what changes were made. I really wish it was all more stable and bluetooth worked, but it is really nice when people start talking on their fancy new phones, and I fire up a wifi hotspot and tell them, nope, doesn't cost me extra, and no, you cannot have it and no, I am almost out of contract and I don't owe a dime.

At least that's what I keep telling myself.

I mentioned Sunspots before. I meant solar flares...
