NRGZ usually recommends a radio with the GSM version because of the desire to match rilphone.dll with the radio -- however (and I would love some clarification on this) I don't think that matters or applies to us CDMA folks.

As discussed many times (and as ThreeFaces points out just above this post) the results from any radio are going to vary greatly by location. Nobody can say what will work best for you in your location. You just have to try a few and see for yourself.

You are correct - we can use any of the CDMA radios - just pick which one is "best"

-Best Signal (you can use ##DEBUG# to check the RX Power line - the lower the number the better -80dB is better than -100dB)
-Less heat
-GPS responsiveness

This is all very dependent on your location and your preferences - I for example run a radio that doesn't give me the absolute best reception in my area, but I like that my phone doesn't get as hot when on a call or using GPS

Is anyone having problems with bluetooth? I'm having problems pairing the phone with my computer in order to use Internet sharing. I didn't have problems with the 7-14 built. When I try to pair the laptop with the phone a get a message that says Bluetooth network failed. Failed to open a connection to network service. Your device may have reached its maximun number of supported network connections.
Any advice?

I'm using the 7/29 build "RD" on a Sprint TP and I have it working. Took a few seconds to locate a satellite. Maybe a silly question, but did you dudes enable "use gps" in the menu and all that jazz?

Hmmm...it just started working by itself without changing any setting. Do you have traffic working?

Yea, I've noticed in the past when using Google Maps that there can be some lag when trying to find a satellite. ...but given some time, it will find me. Layers works...I have traffic working too...it's pretty slick. Check the screen shots. The first shows the map with traffic and transit lines turned on. The second shows the "Layers" menu with those options selected to display.

Just tested on 7/29 Standard and calls to favorites from people tab is working fine for me -- which version are you on? Also, are you not seeing the icon for calling a contact with a valid number or is it there but not working for you?

EDIT: Huh? Where's the post I responded to...quoted even...it was just there....?!?

Yeah, i have been there before but will look again. I noticed I cannot pick up roaming in this ROM so I am trying to change radios to see if that helps

I also stand behind the claims that the stock TP had horrible battery life and MANY reg edits and adjustments needed to be applied to get the device to last for more than a few hours. The stock ROM has soooo many features enabled it just drank battery. In order to get my Stock ROM to perform the way I wanted to, I needed it teathered to a charger.

I bet if you really committed to improving the battery life of your device running this ROM, you'd be surprised at what can be done. Changing radios, adjusting the polling for various features, disabling data after you're finished iwth it, disabling any "automatic updates", reducing the frequency of email syncs, etc.

I mean, you made ONE reg edit and got twice as much battery life out of it...keep playing with it. I've never once had the device die on me. The closest it came was when I spent a day out in the woods...roaming/constanly searching for a signal will kill your battery.

...and I mean this all with calm respect. I didn't intend to come off harsh or anything.
I totally aggree with you in the most of your points.
One question, Waths the reason because this ROM polling 5000 and in the Stock come with 25000 and yor recomendation it's 20000.
Waths the technical explication?
