Just tested on 7/29 Standard and calls to favorites from people tab is working fine for me -- which version are you on? Also, are you not seeing the icon for calling a contact with a valid number or is it there but not working for you?
EDIT: Huh? Where's the post I responded to...quoted even...it was just there....?!?
