Yes, and for MY hard earned money I want the most value. I don't think anyone can be faulted for that. When we all purchase a product we also expect the manufacture to support it fully. Not give you a "see ya" when their customers get upset.

I think you misunderstood my point: why complain about the video drivers if you're content with a 2 mp camera? And why not make a bigger deal of the sd card corruption? |

Please - enough BS - if your not an HTC troll then you must be blind. Even Mr. Chow says he does whatever is necessary to make sure his consumers are happy! Stating in detail how the new "touch" is a business and consumer phone blending rich multimedia experiences and broad business applications. Look - if you don't think that they owe us anything then use your phone and move on! The point of this thread is to make HTC aware that the consumer will not tolerate subpar performance on a device which costs a considerable amount of money. The technology of this device should make all processes better than in previous models and that is not the case. My PDA phone from 2 years ago could do everything this device can but with a much better multimedia experience. With regard to testing a device like this one, 30 days is a joke! We have other responsibilities other than checking on a phone that should live up to better standards then prior models. After all - isn't this why we continue to upgrade? It is to upgrade - right? By the way - check out the HTC website and click on press releases - They continue to have record growth and income - If they want to continue to make better products then make them just that - better! Do what's right HTC - make it better.

"It's different when you find out the poor performance is not due to immature software build or system bug but an actual omission by the manufacturer. In the computer biz we all live off patches and service packs. One thing is waiting for a fix to come the other is finding out that there will never be one and "the next model will fix everything, go get that one" Those two features need to be addressed and I'm hoping we'll see something in the upcoming firmware release. Patches can fix those issues. The video card driver is something different. HTC is hoping not to support us at all. |

Good points on both sides. My .02:
HTC and Sprint have marketed these phones as not only business tools, but multimedia devices. From HTC America's website: "It has everything you need with room left over for fun - including the Internet, camera, video and games." From Sprint's website: "This go-anywhere Windows Mobile 6 device combines a smarter phone with wireless email, built-in web browser and rich media capabilities." The media capabilites I've seen aren't that rich. Sprint and HTC had reason to believe that customers intended to use these devices for video playback as well as other graphic intensive applications. There is an implied warranty that the device is fit for that task. I'm not saying it needs to be the best media player on the market, but some level of competency is expected. DirectDraw is a standard, not an option, and the absence of the appropriate drivers cripples the device relative to rational expectations. I think we have reason to expect a fix from HTC. Anybody have a particular contact address for sending emails to? Oh, and as long as I'm asking, I'm going to try to get them to throw in more RAM for my Mogul too ; ) PS. That last part was a joke, please don't tell me all the reasons a RAM upgrade won't happen. |

@bedoig
The following is where you want to go: http://member.htc.com/CustomerService/CS_Mail.aspx Please let others know! We do have a right to deserve the best from a product that costs so much. They make throw away phones that have better video performance than my Sprint Touch! |
