That's an extremely weak argument and you're skewing my example to make yours.

Apples to apples - Try running vista on your old laptop and watch how much faster your new laptop feels compared.

More apples to apples - My smartphone from 2 yrs ago could only do a fraction of what I ask my phone to do today.

All for a driver??? Seems like a big trade off considering it's there under the hood.

What's the difference if it's a software driver, or a missing chip/antenna? Both cost money to implement.

Yes, and for MY hard earned money I want the most value. I don't think anyone can be faulted for that. When we all purchase a product we also expect the manufacture to support it fully. Not give you a "see ya" when their customers get upset.

I think you misunderstood my point: why complain about the video drivers if you're content with a 2 mp camera? And why not make a bigger deal of the sd card corruption?

Those two things fall back on my earlier point -

"It's different when you find out the poor performance is not due to immature software build or system bug but an actual omission by the manufacturer. In the computer biz we all live off patches and service packs. One thing is waiting for a fix to come the other is finding out that there will never be one and "the next model will fix everything, go get that one"

Those two features need to be addressed and I'm hoping we'll see something in the upcoming firmware release. Patches can fix those issues.

The video card driver is something different. HTC is hoping not to support us at all.
