I just flashed the latest NRG Dinik from 3/29... Is there a setting to control the proximity sensor? Mine is not working... (It's a new phone... so I am trying to find out if its a hardware issue...)

Thx

Here you can find all the reg entries and all the files of the old CDMA dialer.
This is an amazing level of support, thank you Monfro.

One thing I came to like about the Verizon Wireless and USTARCOMM CDMA dialer is they used an option to increase the button (number) size in the dialer, which made it easier to dial with my" big_thumbs".

I have just dumped Verizon MR2 and MR3 rom...and these packages have the same number as Sprint’s...so they are the same...

Maybe there is a reg edit for it...or (if i understand correct) the image of the dialpad is different.

Anyway here you have the links to Verizon dialers:

MR2 CDMA dialer

MR3 CDMA dialer

I don't know if the problem was appeared, but on the version Energy.RHODCDMA.29017.Sense2.5.Cookie.2.0.Mar.21, and I think persists in the version GSM, because basically both are the same thing just differentiating in the net type CDMA/GSM.
I noticed that the consumption of energy of my apparel increased and a lot. same incapacitating access to the internet, it continues removing a lot of energy of the battery.
When I need to use the calculator, for simple thing, the use from 3 to 4 minutes consumes 5% of energy. Before they ask the screen shine it is in automatic.
Some idea of the one what can that excessive consumption be?

Tethering Problem - UNABLE to SYNC to PC...

SYNC-electomy definition = (unable to sync TP2 to Windows 7 PC after spending 3 days f#@&ing around with it, ready to go postal, losing massive amounts of hair, need help)

Okay, guys, I was still unable to "connect" to my PC, so no sync. This all started when I tried to install PocketQuicken for PPC and neither my TP2 or my PC reacted well, so I unloaded it, but was left with Sync Problems...

I tethered the cdma TP2 (seems to be working fine now with the latest Energy.RHODCDMA.29017.Sense2.5.Mar.30.7z) to an identical Toshiba Laptop to mine (a friend and I bought them together on clearance from BB) and it worked flawlessly:
  • Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) appeared...
  • PC prompted me that the phone was tethered
  • asked if I wanted to set up WMDC to sync with the device.
So, now I know it's a problem with my PC, so I...
  • Removed my device settings from WMDC on my laptop
  • Uninstalled the WMDC software from Control Panel
  • Tethered my TP2 to MY laptop===>>
RESULTS:
Nothing! I hear the tone like I'm connecting a USB device, but no green screen of WMDC or any prompts to connect specific devices, set profiles, activesync--zip.

Can anyone please help me resolve this?

It's obviously something on my PC as the troubleshoot worked great with the exact same laptop PC, owned by my friend...
TIA

Find the NRG thread Wiki in someones signature and take a look at that and read about the rom and what you can do to minimize battery consumption. Also go through the phone and all of it's settings and make sure that you don't have things like screen brightness to high or on auto, don't have bluetooth or wifi on if you don't need it, check your email settings, there's all kinds things that you need to check.

Here's a link to the wiki: http://wiki.ppcgeeks.com/index.php?t...nergy_CDMA_ROM

Kiowa directed you to the most information about battery life. Thanks to him for that.

First, your battery will always drain fast after a fresh flash. I give mine a couple days before I decide if it is a good or bad ROM as far as battery use.

Second, Battery life depends on the reception and data connection that you use. If data is on all the time, the battery drains much faster and if you are in a poor or marginal coverage area your battery will drain faster.

Third, I always set my screen brightness to 60% rather than using the auto adjust which constantly increases and decreases the screen brightness. Not only do I find that annoying but I think it uses more battery power than just picking 60%.

Fourth, Weather updates and email push use a lot of data connection so I set them to check for weather updates every 6 hours and email every three hours.

Finally, - and some disagree with me on this - but the phone has circuitry that "learns" the battery charge/discharge rate and that gets reset whenever you flash a new ROM. It can take several days of discharging and recharging before it relearns the patterns of battery use on your phone. With my phone, I notice that after about a week of regular use, my battery levels tend to stabilize. I had run the same NRG ROM since January and I was getting just over two days of full use. I just flashed the last ROM (3/21) and I get one day at best...But, I know that will improve. It usually always does.

How you charge your phone also factors in as well. I will usually let mine drain down to about 25 or 30% before putting it on the charger. I also use a second battery in case I can't hook up to the charger in time. It helps to have a spare. And, as NRG mentioned, if your battery is old, it will lose its ability to charge over time and the amount of use you get from it will decline rapidly.

Also, this sounds somewhat counterintuitive but overclocking actually helps increase battery life. At least in my experience with it. I have been overclocking my phone to 748mHz and not only does it run quite well but it seems that whenever I overclock, my battery lasts longer. YMMV.

Hope that helps. But as Kiowa pointed out - and provided a link to - the WIKI has lots of very useful information.

David

Try this:

Delete the partnership in WDMC on your computer.

On your phone, click on start > settings > connections > "USB to PC" and uncheck both "Enable faster data synchronization" and "ask me first about usb connection...".

See if that helps.
