Re: |HERM|ROM|6.5|WWE| ** EnergyROM 'Genesis' (23016) ** | Built Sep 6th | Manila 2.

I saw that, and it only gave me more questions. So there are three dialers:

1) Tachi
2) HTC dialer
3) Windows defaut

Is that right? By default, whichi is it that comes on when you run a new flashed STANDARD Energy Rom? Is it possible to go to the HTC dialer instead of the windows - seeing as there are additional compatibility issues with the windows version?

The prodigal Chef returns in a blaze of glory! Absolutely fantastic ROM NRG! Rock-solid, haven't encountered any issues yet (nor have I had to soft-reset other than after some app installs). Truly some of your best work. Thank you for taking some time out from playing with the TP2 to visit those of us who haven't been lucky enough to get one yet.

The Tachi is the default dialer. Dunno about HTC, you may be able to install it, based on nrgz post you get the microsoft dialer with the disabler cab.
So 905 is the same as my 906, the issue is still there but not as frequent? I've been reading while you guys hash it out and trying to recreate. I'd say I get about 1/12 calls hangs like you said but that is with me doing it on purpose, and call after call....non stop.
EDIT:I know this isn't a fix but in 20 calls if I wait to hear the phone ringing, and then hit soft end, it never completed the call. Called a phone right next to me and it never rang. So if you hit a contact by mistake, dont panic, wait a second then end

Re: |HERM|ROM|6.5|WWE| ** EnergyROM 'Genesis' (23016) ** | Built Sep 6th | Manila 2.

I'd be happy with that number of pass/fail.

Yes, i think I've tried every combination now, and here's my position:

If I start a call and the call 'connects', the hangup buttons (both) work as designed. The result, a disconnected call, but you're still in the dialer screen. And the dialer is responsive and will immediately allow another call.

However, if I press the 'end call' software button while the call has not yet connected (says dialing...) then the dialer screen disappears, I'm dropped out into the today screen, and the call continues in the back ground. At that point, the phone ability of my phone is hosed. I cannot get back to the dialer with the 'talk key' or the phone icon in the start menu. It takes about 30-45 seconds to time out - at which point all returns to normal.

I think we've rulled out 9/5 to 9/6 as being the cause, since 9/5 has the same issues. The flashing of both a dumped stock image and a shipped stock image (Sprint) also made no difference. I don't know what other variables to try.

Again I've turned off TF3D and "windows default' option in the Today items screen. I'd love to just use the HTC dialer (if there is such a thing).

The only thing that made a REAL difference was taking my Ambien on an empty stomach... woohooo!!!

I edited my last post...what you describe here is about what I'm seeing rarely. So if we use our phones normally we are golden, it's the panic stopping that is the issue jk. Hey look at it like this, you gained a cr@pload of knowledge and experience and you still get to enjoy all the glory of the energy ROM. Hope your mailbox looks good.

Re: |HERM|ROM|6.5|WWE| ** EnergyROM 'Genesis' (23016) ** | Built Sep 6th | Manila 2.

So the dialer works unless you end a call that has yet to connect and is still dialing?
Does the hard end key work?

Maybe the delay for the dialer needs to be changed.
Try this. Go into the Advanced Config app in the tweaks folder.
Scroll down to phone options.
Check the End call delay.
It should be set to 0.
If it is then try setting it from 1 - 3 and see if that changes anything.

Just something to try and not sure if it will help or not.

Now I have a ?
I use Sashimi and it works great.

What I want to know is how well does Spb Backup work?
Have it and I have made Full backups but I have never restored with it.
Does it restore as well as Sashimi?

I know I should just test it but wanted to know what other people may think about it.

I flashed to stock Sprint, then back to this, and no go on the dialer. Is there something I can turn off/deactivate/uninstall/hack that will make it work?
Works fine here.
No lockups or abnormal behavior.

Tried flashing 3x tonight, all three have the same result.
This ^ I've had happen to me before, but it's not limited to NRGZ ROMs. This would happen on MightyROM, Juggalo's, Juicy's, you name it. It's seemingly random, but it would usually happen when I tried to quickly end the call before it's fully initiated, resulting in the (as you mentioned) need to pull out the battery as the only means of terminating the accidental call. I haven't had it happen yet on this ROM, but once again, I don't believe this to be ROM specific.

BTW, the hanging is 100% repeatable. The hard-end key works about 90% of the time.
For me it's not 100% repeatable. I've tried doing it now like 5 times in a row on the 09/06 build, and I can't even get it to lock up once, yet.
