Re: sprint insurance replacement
After reading this post I called Asurion. I spoke with a rep, she said she would replace my phone for $50 as usual, then I said "This would be the 4th one that I have recieved, is there any way I can get an upgrade" she said "yeah, sure. Let me see if which phone is comparable to yours and if we have any in stock" placed me on hold. She came back and said the the Mogul is my replacement phone and that it is on back order. When she said that I thought to myself, gameover, back to the 6700, but then she said "we will have some within 2-6 business days, if your willing to wait that long we can send you one right out. Is that fine?" In my mind I was like "hell yeah thats fine" but I just said "yes thank you". She said it will be sent no later than the 19th.
Very painless experience, I thought it would be like pulling teeth. I thought I would have to bargain and convince them but she was very cooperative and nice. Maybe I just got lucky and got a rep that wants to just make the customer happy and keep moving but if your trying to upgrade I suggest you at least give it a try, it really works. Thanks to everyone who posted on this thread before me. |

Re: sprint insurance replacement
nope...
i called and spent 1 1/2 hour on the phone with various people. first, customer support, she could not do anything. She forwarded me to sales. After 30 minutes of arguing and talking over her she finally understood that i did NOT want a new 2 year contract, OR pay more than 50 dollars. I am calling because my phone no longer works correctly and would like a replacement. she then expressed i need to talk to the insurance group. I then explained to her to tell the insurance person before i speak to them of everything i have explained to her. i was then transfered over and the insurance person did not mention anything. I had to re-explain EVERYTHING then she said... "like i told the customer service rep i cannot do that" after talking and talking the rep said that it was in their guidelines to give the customer the same replacement phone for the first replacement. If that replacement still has issues after the 2nd or 3rd replacement they will then proceed to upgrade the customer. she then checked with someone offline to see if she could find out if she could help me out on this replacement. she checked and said...she cannot, but even then the MOGUL's are out of stock and won't be in for a minimum of 6 days. She made it seem that if they did have it in stock, she would help me out with getting a MOGAL. She stated that if the replacement phone has issues to please call in within 30 days for a replacement. I might be able to ask for a MOGUL then but its usually on the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th replacement before that is a viable solution. |

Re: sprint insurance replacement
I used Sprint insurance when I busted my Mogul. They sent me a new one within like two days, and also were supposed to charge $50 to my sprint bill, but 5 months later still no charge
So yeah, Sprint insurance rocks! haha |

Re: sprint insurance replacement
I called tonight and requested an Advanced Exchange for a 6700 that the call button no longer works on. The lady was helpful but they are sending out a refurbished 6700. I am a little worried about that - they would not send out a 6800. Instead, she offered me $150 off an upgrade, which I told her is an insult as I pay $150 to Sprint every month for phone + data card. She quickly retracted that statement and said that I would get it for the new customer price, but I am not looking for a contract extension. I'd rather buy it off Ebay for $350.
Heck, the least they can do is send a new battery with a refurb 6700. I DID NOT call to get an upgrade and I love my 6700 but am not looking forward to reloading WM6 on it and redoing everything just to have it fail again right away. Last edited by wesd; 04-15-2008 at 09:15 PM. |

Quote:
I forgot to mention on my earlier post here, the reason sprint support gave me a Mogul was because they saw the history that i was on my second phone...and then they approved it... again...do not let them transfer you to insurance claim...ask the support tech do it for you and connect you with the insurance claim while you on the phone with the tech support....let tech support explain the whole problem... that works/ed for me. |
