I Have Read Every Single Page Of This Thread And The Bug Forum...
There Are Alot Of People Who Are Having These Two Problems...

The Problem Is Your Denial That Your Work Has A Problem , A Very Serious One... And I Expect You To Take This In A Professional And Technical Manner And Own Up To Fixing It.... Not Blaming It On Active Sync... Which Was Working Fine Untill Your Kitchen Whacks It....

Ok...so.. What Do You Want From Me..any Log Or Description Or What....lets Get Started On Fixing This....

The First Thing Is We Cant Do Anything Untill You Tell Me How To Fix The Installed Application....and Its Error That It Cant
Initialize.... And Dont Tell Me To Rebuild The Shortcuts...been There Done That Dude....

Next Idea... Im Waiting.....
dood are you drunk or high on something? its good that you donated for all the work these guys put into this project, but I don't think you have any RIGHT to bitch about errors that you are getting from using this kitchen.

if it was a commercial product and you paid for it ...then yes you can try and complain and try to get support for it but dood .... no one is forcing you to use this kitchen...i think you should go back to your stock ROM before some of the guys on the forum decides to give Bin Laden YOUR own GPS coordinates

Update your kitchen to the one posted last night, or download the PPCGeeks_OEM.rar (also available from the main kitchen post), or both. I recomend both.

What a total pole-smoker. If you don't like the product, STFU and get the f**K out of here.
You obviously don't belong if you don't "get" the spirit of the heros of this site working their asses off on experimental software to make OUR phone experience better.

Not to mention, I can't place any weight on the words of a "military PC technician".
1) Computer techs in the military tend to suck ass until they get selected to work on important systems, and not PC's. 2) You're title as PC technician means that you're A++ or Helpdesk rat. When you boost up to Network technician, or security engineer, let us know. 3) The fact that you're a PC tech of 25 years means you must really suck ass not to move on to bigger and better things in 25 freaking years 4) anyone who has to boast their title and experience in an email is a liar or has serious insecurity issues.

BTW: I've been running 071105_2 for 2 days (won't upgrade until more significant improvements, as I'm content), and this Kitchen freaking ROCKS!!!!!!
Fast, no crashes yet, and highly functional.

Hi familydog,

You should be posting issues to the bug thread. It took a while to read through your rant to even tell there was an issue in there.

Your symptoms are typical of flashing a slightly oversized or misconfigured ROM, and usually can be resolved by:
  1. Holding the power+notes buttons, and pressing the stylus reset
  2. Returning the phone in it's cradle
  3. Flashing a smaller, or properly configured ROM.
If problems persist, try flashing back to a stock ROM.

The ppcgeeks_oem.rar copy the file into the main c:\buildos folder you have, you do not run this at all just copy it in there and try again.

If you still have problems I might be able to do a remote session for you and see what is going on. Let me know

No Where In Your Instructions During The Setup And Install Of Your Kitchen Does It Say The Following Very Important Message ....

"if You Dont Have Dotnet 2.o Installed On Your Xp ...this Kitchen Will Not Work.."

Once You Install It... The "cant Initalize The Application Errors Go Away And The Kitchen Starts........

A Good Reccomendation To You... Put That In Your Setup Up Gui !!!!!!!!!!
It Will Keep People From Wanting To Give Your Gps Coordinates To Bin Laden.....
.Net is required. We will add that to the instructions. I'll also add that Windows 2000 sp4 is the minimum OS supported.

Second Problem... Some Weird But Substantial And Important Information... On The "cant Connect To Device Error Problem.." And It Was As I Suspected...

I Was Determined To Try And Stop It From Killing Active Sync... And I Succeded... When I Clicked The Button To Start The Rom Upgrade To The 6700 ... I Immediatly Started Clicking The "sync" Button In Active Sync Making It Run...and Continously Clicking It Kept Your Program From Killing It... And Your Rom Upgrade Completed To The Phone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Have Been A Hands On Professional College Degreed And U.s. Military Career Electronics And Pc Technician For 25 Years.... Im Not Some Punk With A Couple Of Frankensystems Under His Belt... I Know What Im Doing And What Im Talking About As A Troubleshooting Tech.... Your App Is Hozing Active Sync For Whatever Reason I Dont Know... But Ive Just Proven It....

Its Undeniable... So...ive Done The Hard Work...and Proven You Have A Problem And That It Is Your App Doing It... To A Hell Of Alot Of People...
Go Fix The Thing....
The app that does the actual ROM upgrade is HTC's (the same people that made your phone). As such, it's unlikely that it will a) be updated, or b) has a problem of the nature you describe. Furthermore, HTC's ROM update software MUST disconnect Activesync in order to perform the ROM upgrade. That ActiveSync becomes unstable and/or dies is a problem w/ Activesync or your OS. What version of ActiveSync are you using? Have you applied all the updates from Windows Update?

As Kolano pointed out, if your problem is that the PPC LCD display turns white at the end of flashing, that's a result of trying to put too much stuff in the ROM.

P.S. - when you capitalize the first letter of every word, it makes your post very hard to read.

When an updated kitchen is released do we need to download both the kitchen installer & OEM package or just the kitchen installer?

thx
