I am pretty happy with the ROM. I think this great community helped develop this platform to it's maximum potential, something the Big Boys failed to do. I recently aquired a second TP2, so I have a backup. Picked up a couple of spare batteries at best buy in the bottom of the bargin bin. (that's a lot of b's) Got a new case, and a spare case. Lord willing I will be set for a while until Verizon comes out with a decent WinMo phone.

WinMo no longer sync's with exchange? Mine does, but perhaps that is just the newest ROMs, (mines a bit older)

For locking I just discovered PocketShield. It with Volumex(volume control) was just under $8. 70% off. I love this software and I wonder why I did not find it before. I was sick and tired of hitting a thousand keys when my phone would wake up with SMS. It still wakes up, but nothing can be touched and it goes back to sleep after 20 seconds. All customizable.

I also recent discovered Battclock. What a great little program. Lets me put all sorts of neat information on the top bar with color stripes that tell me things like cpu load, Batt load. Batt temp. Love it so much, I think I am going to donate to the writer.

I will be on the TP2 for a while yet...

hello all,
Just got back into WinMobile phones... bought myself a tp2, guy already unlocked it but i also unlocked it to make sure ...
i downloaded and installed one of the Energy ROM's (sencity). my phone, texts, gps, wifi works. yay! ...

I didn't see Skype installed, i see skype doesn't support windows mobile anymore, but there were some .cabs for Skype i saw on the boards. I tried a couple and none worked (SkypeForPocketPC.CAB, and the cab in SkypeWM_v3.0.0.256.zip). I try signing in but it lags for a couple minutes and finally says can't connect... internet works when airplane mode on, (but wifi on), so know the wifi is working

My radio is 2.23.00WV, Verizon tp2, using the sencity rom.

Anyone got Skype working with Energy?

Also on a sidenote... Anyone use any GPS tools that allow you to preload maps (so you don't use data when roaming overseas). Ive used a couple things on my Android phone but not sure if something exists for WinMobile

You have to use an old version of skype. I have an old version I have used for awhile now but it still works fine with winmo. At least it did a few weeks ago when I used it to call the US from Europe. It is a little too large to attach to the post so will create a download link tomorrow.

Actually, I think it depends on the version of exchange you are using. Once your server gets upgraded you will likely lose the ability to sync. I now always get a certificate error that activesync can't get past. Tried installing certificates downloaded from the OWA but no go.

One last question as well,
When you switch the menu from Normal to anything else, It seems like 'All Settings' link doesn't work... I saw prev people mention you can get the old Normal menu back by going into 'Other' in the regular settings page and do the Start Menu Switch Layout there...

I assumed all those missing 'All Settings' settings pages would have another way to get to them like in Other section for peeps who do want to enable Sense, Panel, etc menu's...

But there was at least one setting page I couldn't find ... Under 'All Settings' was a 'Home' option where you could set the theme. But with the other Start Menu's enabled, I don't see a way to get to this setting. Any ideas how to get to Home settings if I enable the other menus?


and... How do you get rid of widget on home screen ... like the Calender and Weather parts. I just want the Clock with the Messages, Email, Call History, Voicemail row and shortcuts row below them.


andd.......... I went to Message Options under a message and changed it from Speech Bubbles to regular SMS... how do i change it back. Those options arent under Message Options as I thought they were there

Ok here's one for the pros - I was playing around with HTC ROM Image Editor and noticed the wave files for the Callwait tone and Busy tone, so I extracted these files then created new wave files useing the same specs for duration, mono and everthing else. I replaced the files useing HTC ROM Image Editor to see if I could change the tone I hear when dialing out, but it didn't work. My question is, do you think it is possible to change these tones to a custom sound? if so are there some other files I may need to work with or am I just to crazy.

Any thoughts?
