So I flashed back to stock and then thought that I would try Cookie GTX and see if I had the same problem. This time I got some screen shots.

But when I took out the SD card to upload the screen shots, I did a soft reset without the card and it went back to normal.

What gives? Did I miss something when I was catching up on the posts?

For those of you wondering or want to ask before you flash, Aug 10 CHT 23128 has 76mb Free on fresh restart. Been using it on and off for the last couple hours and have run bing, google maps and a few of the built in applications and am currently at 69mb. Opening opera and running it puts me at a comfortable 56mb free.

EDIT: I manualy set my pagepool at 12 prior to flashing. The default was 24mb

Only bad news (and it may not be ROM related) is that I just had a SOD while running google maps. I was changing from "location service" - which puts me in Chattanooga to GPS which puts me in Knoxville where I live. When I opened the settings menu up the phone froze and the power button did not turn it off (including hlding it in for several seconds). So, off with the cover and did a soft reset via the reset button.

Like I said though, I just flashed today so I have been doing alot of testing and the SOD may be totally untelated to the new ROM.

Like the Aug 1 CHT, bootup time is quick, overall feel is fast and responsive, so for me, another keeper.

Also, after running carrier provisioning (the first thing I do after first boot), data, texting and everything else was working fine.

Good solid ROM.

So, I was able to figure out what I was doing wrong. I'm not sure why exactly (other than it's causing some sort of conflict), but it was the HTC folder. Once I deleted out the HTC folder in the Application Data on my storage card, I was able to soft reset and everything appears to be working better than before. I am soooo looking forward to playing around with the newest build. Ever since I came across Energy, I've been flash happy.

oops! Forgot to mention that. Sometimes my fingers work faster than my brain does.

I used pagepool changer to change my page pool to 12.

just downloaded 21911 and 23128...

I'm gonna flash 23128 and see how it goes based on the positive feedback so far...i know that 21911 seems to be reliable, tried and true so i'll have that as backup.

I think I'm going to add that to my Quick FAQ's in my sig line.

It pops up every now and then but its a very good point to make note of for future reference.

Once I was able to start troubleshooting, it wasn't too tough to figure out. It would be good to have it in the FAQ's though since that was an hour that I spent testing that I could have spent playing.

Ya know, I just had a Homer Simpson moment and must say....


DOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH!

While I was playing around, I started to think about how I ACTUALLY use my phone, particularly which tabs I use and which I don't. I don't use "stocks" at all for instance. So, I started checking my memory usage after unchecking each tab and I actually got back 1 to 2 MB for each tab that I quit using.

Anyone else want to try that and see what you think? How many of those tabs do you really use every day? Can you live with an quicklink for opera rather than the internet tab? It just opens opera anyway, right...

From my homescreen, I can swipe down and tap on my opera shortcut faster than I can swype over to the tab then tap on the launch internet.

Just some random thoughts for the day.
