I know others have reported issues with restoring from SPB Backup or other similar applications. The problem is that it can back up too much information, such as application settings or registry entries that can be incompatible with a new ROM.

When you do your backup, are you doing a "Full Backup" or a "Custom Backup" where you specify only specific data files? SPB Backup also has a Device and ROM upgrade mode, where it detects a ROM or device change and prompts for the appropriate restore method.

I have always used Activesync/Mobile Device Center and not had issues. The key is to know the right sequence to set up syncing with a new device, and part of that is based on whether you sync wirelessly with an Exchange server (which I do). I always set up the partnership, uncheck all of the sync items, then establish my Exchange server settings. Only after Exchange is configured do I go back and select items to sync. This avoids the problem where you are synching to both the PC and Exchange and end up with duplicate contacts, calender entries, etc.

Very nice explanation Kscawley, thanks Also, i think i have UC setup the way i want and testing now. This will cut it down to 4 ROMs and allow you to run whatever carrier you want as well as any cabs.

I hear ya... I actually do a manual install of apps and reg keys... I am using SPB strictly for PIM data, ie contacts/texts/calendar, and can't imagine why this would cause issues... it doesn't on any other ROMs I use...

did you get my pm about the test rom link i sent you? there are a few packages in that one that are added. If that doesn't work, then i'm not sure, other than there was something different with the rom you did the backup on and my rom is different different than that and spb doesn't like the kitchen. As most people use the VK variants of kitchens and I use PPCK, do you know if it has worked on other ppck based ROM's? Although being diff kitchen shouldn't matter though really. Anyways, try out the test rom link i sent you if you haven't and let me know.

My first issue:
I go into contacts (bluetooth is on) and press "call work" for one of the contacts. It highlights the "action" but does not dial the call.

Wonder if your run the MrX Sprint cab on this and then the SprintTV cab, if that would work then.....Although I am not sure if the error that comes up is even releated to identifying the user as I don't think it even gets that far......Just brainstorming.

A program I was suprised is not cooked in is Bing. I use that thing all the time.

Everything has been running well with the Rom you had posted yesterday.......

Don't think it would have anything to do with the kitchen as it's just PIM data I was trying to restore... to further complicate things, I downloaded the 21889 version of sense UI and the issue disappears... ie on 23015 or whatever the version on the left of your ROM list is, I have that issue... not on the other version though... I am trying the one you PM'd me now... Thx

The test ROM appears to be working great... really appreciate your support of the ROM... PIM data did not cause any issues with functionality on the new version... I need to still put the ROM through the ringer but initial take is very positive... Thx

Re: <> 01-25-2010 <> Medium Hill ROM's <> Sense 2.5 & Titanium <> SYS 21889 & 23518

Great ROM, quick and speedy as usual. Here's my bug list for:

MHVerizon21889Sense2.5-1-25-10
1) Grooveshark doesn't work. Will search, request key and not go further. There was a post earlier with a cab and .dll and when install those it works perfect
2) WM 6.5 dialer breaks manila links so your favorites and contacts will not work. i can only dial from the WM 6.5 contacts or by voice command.
3) Sense settings tab + Data Services + ActiveSync button is still broke. link will not do anything
4) Face down speaker phone doesn't work and the tab for advance from phone is missing which allows you to ignore with txt and enable speakerphone by placing on screen which I think has to do with the missing HTC dialer.
5) No HTC volume control. The volume works but kinda stinks compared to the HTC version.
6) FIM (facebook IM) will not sign in. Keeps getting connection failed error

Aside from that everything is working well and I will update this post if I find more stuff. I need to find a cab for Microsoft My Phone because it's not coming up in the marketplace (page doesn't load)
