Re: |HERM|ROM|6.5|WWE| ** EnergyROM 'Mercury' (21921) ** || Built July 14th ||

Noted 1 minor issue with video:
AWESOME ROM but noted 1 minor issue with the video when the device is locked. After being on a while I noticed that the lock screen with the slider will overlap the number keypad. It almost appears as if there is a screen refresh that doesn't happen. Other than that, I love the image. Works great and FAST! (Using Standard version)

I've only been on the ROM a few hours but reading the posts I'm wondering if there is just an issue with the video driver. Is there an older or newer rev that may fix the noted screen issues?

Is there anything that can be done about the battery life? As soon as take my phone off charge and make one phone call I always notice that the battery goes to the 80's immediately. I love the rom, I would just like to know if anything can be done to better preserve the battery. (Using the Standard Version)

Battery life and calibration, especially after flashing to a new ROM is a funny thing. You should wait a few days/charge cycles to see what your actual experience is throughout the day(s), and not judge based off the first few minutes/calls after a charge.

When I take my phone off charge it drops to 95-97% within a minute, and down past 90% after just a little use -- but -- I still have about 30% left after 12 hours. That is my average day on a standard battery with some bluetooth calls, using Garmin XT w/ GPS to get to clients, some regular calls, some tinkering, some emails and a few texts. In fact, I used to run stock with an extended battery, but I have been able to go back to standard since I started running custom ROMs, and EnergyROM has been great for me in that department.

There are of course lots of battery-saving tips floating around that you may have already considered, but it never hurts to review them again, such as these from the XDA EnergyROM thread...

Quote:
BATTERY SAVING TIPS
• There is nothing special about this ROM to make it use more power than other ROMs except that it is tweaked for performance over battery life.
• Make sure you follow all of the flashing instructions to the letter. Especially the part about the hard reset.
• Backlight is set to high. You might want to change that.
• 3G is on by default. Recommendation is to turn it off when you are not surfing the internet.
• Check to see that some application is not still running in the background. Check, do not assume. USe the full Task Manager application.
• Check to see if the screen is still on when you expect it to be off. Soft reset can fix that issue.
• Some radios work better with some carriers and locations. Asking everyone to tell you what radio to use may not give you the best answer. Be specific about your situation.
• The battery meter will not settle down and give accurate readings for a few battery cycles. Give it a while.
• For the first few battery charging cycles, try to charge to 100% with phone off and then allow battery to drain down quite a bit before recharging. Thisis so the meter will calulate drain well.
• Don't drain your batery all the way down until it dies. Not good for these types of batteries.
• The GPS sucks the battery dry. If you want to keep track of yourself, consider something like GPSToday that only wakes up the GPS once in a while.
• Maybe you don't really need aGPS enabled. Disable and check GPS lock times and battery drain.
• Applications that run from the storage card consume more power so install oft-used or background-type applications to main memory.

to Display message on screen, which is Great & what I want, but as the day progressed the bug kept coming at me unchecking itself for about 5 out of my 8 reminders they wouldn't display on-screen, each time it would loose it's setting I would go back into my sounds & notifications and recheck the box, this is how I found that screenshot just this minute as I write this reply

What gives? Please tell me I'm not the only one this is happening to? 2 days ago I was running the standard 714 build on a completely different touch pro and it happened then. How do I fix to keep my messges to display on screen forever?
I have the same issue with Tommy re: bug 1/pop up notification turning off by itself, and would appreciate any feedback on this. I have reflashed a few times. I noticed this bug is also present in both of VZW's stock ROM.

As far as Tommy's bug#2, I haven't experienced it ...let's hope I won't run into that. Thanks again.

I have been bouncing around to different roms for months and never found exactly what I was looking for. But I this rom blows me away, it has everything and runs great.

Keep up the good work and thanks for the great rom!
