Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.1 Custom ROM | Eclair | *Updated | 6/10/10*

Just flashed... but the market is broken (can't find many apps such as titanium backup). Can anyone help? Do I need to re-flash in hopes of making it work?

Figured it out... and I hope I didn't alarm anyone.

I think the problem was that I tried using the market before the browser. Once I loged in to the web via the browser (and entered my phone number at the prompt) the market place started working properly. I hope there are no other issues.

OMJ... quick question:

Did you already replace the reboot file in /system/bin (needed to make ROM Manager reboot from GUI) or should I do that separately?

no, that feature is for the paid version, and I dont know where they're getting their roms.....best just to copy a new rom to sd, then use rom mgr to install

The reason I ask is because it is a pain in the ass to group all of my contacts into Favorite, Co-Workers, Family, VIP, etc.

I used Titanium backup and I just selected backup all apps and system data. I thought that would do it. I would try using HTC Sync, but does anyone know how to make it work right? It says I'm connected even when I'm not. When I plug it in, my phone can never find sync on the pc. What am I doing wrong?
gmail is the best way to backup contacts....as for your settings, I'm looking for the same, along w/ my pop/smtp email accounts....if someone knows please let us know!!!

*edit* maybe i need to try titanium again

yes, it is in the ROM, that + flashing the ClockworkMod Recovery allows to reboot into recovery so easy!

*NOTE* for Auto-Recovery, use ROM Manager & Flash ClockworkMod Recovery. Once done, you can use the "Reboot into Recovery" option for full recovery w/ no pc. You can also flash new ROMs from within ROM Manager. For detailed instructions, see FastRX8's tutorial, but you will only need to follow steps 2-4.

Enjoy!
can we do just an update or is a wipe needed?
