Nice find, I just ordered two for 4.85 total, its worth a shot for that price anyways.
Oh and anybody thinking that this so called Gorilla glass is so scratch resistant, I regretfully was hoping the same and thought i should be ok without a screen protector and guess what? I already got a nice scratch on left side of my epics beautiful screen. No drops and I dont even know how or when it happened. So as much as I like the nice slick glass feeling on my finger I guess I will have to get a protector.

The scratch is really not as bad as it looks in the pic, I guess I just caught the light just right in the pic. It definitely doesnt wipe off. &%#@ Gorilla glass!

Re: new epic, looking for screen protector and tips

ive had my zagg protector for a week or so i think and i have 0 rainbow lines, it fits edge to edge, i cant see it at all. it doesnt affect viewing at all either however there is the slightest resistance to the screen now as i touch it but im not bothered by this because it makes it easier to grasp and less slick and slippery

You and me both buddy.

This is the 5th day I've had my Epic. It's been nowhere but sitting face up on a desk or in my pocket (with nothing else like keys in it). Hasn't been dropped. Nothing sharp has come remotely near it.

And yet I have a very light, but most definitely permanent and visible, scratch sweeping all the way across my screen.

I'm uber pissed, and will probably go back to Sprint today, though I can't imagine there's anything they can do for me.

Most of all I'm just baffled how the scratch got there.

I honestly feel sick to my stomach seeing that.

I have no idea how you (and others) end up with scratches like that on your phones. I have taken a screwdriver to the front of mine trying to scratch it and can't...

Maybe I'll just get a screen protector before my luck runs out LOL.

Its quite simple really..it boils down to physics...Gorilla Glass is highly resistant but it is still glass..with force applied at a certain cleavage angle can cause it to scratch...

I had an old apache and I had it fly across the room...smash against the floor and it was fine...then one day it took a small fall and the usb port broke off...

As stated energy can't be created or destroyed..so 99% of the time energy will be redirected from the screen to else where...but that 1% unlucky time it doesn't and there goes your screen.

So as the saying goes, better safe then sorry...

I ordered a Realook screen protector and it showed up in the mail yesterday. I have to say that I absolutely love it. You can read my review of it here:

I agree completely. Applied mine yesterday. It seems to be about a millimeter too short, but I suppose if I had centered it better it would have a half millimeter at top and bottom.

Re: new epic, looking for screen protector and tips

Yep, these screens CAN be scratched. Mine's got a little scratch. I was trying to show someone it wouldn't scratch, and oops, it did. My keys couldn't scratch it at all, though. I think it has to do with the hardness of what you're scratching it with, and how abrasive it is. A screwdriver or key might not scratch it, but something "scratchy" might. Idk.

My keyboard is missing keypresses AND my 4G keeps cutting out, so I was going to take it back anyway and swap it anyway. I'll just have to get a screen protector this time. lol
