Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

Hi. I hope someone can help me out with two problems I am having with my Omnia (on the UK O2 network).

Firstly, after a month of the phone working like a dream, I am now having problems making / receiving calls. Under the wireless manager, the phone option has "O2 Mobile Web" showing in the box. If I turn this to "On" I can call without problem (for about 2 minutes) however the phone then automatically reconnects to O2 Mobile Web, changing the setting and therefore cutting me off.... The O2 customer service are of no help (the Omnia isn't a phone they support).

Secondly (and a minor problem compared to above) - anyone know how I stop getting the notification message which appears on the bottom left when an email or text appears? If I try to make a call I always have to view the notification first.

Thanks for any help you can give

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

Got a few questions that I did not find answers to when I did a search.

1. How can I get more real estate when I reply to a text or create one. I know in landscape mode the keyboard takes up most of the screen anyway. However, in portrait it would be nice to see what I am actually typing sometimes.

2. I recently installed the spb mobile shell. One of the key connection options does not show up in the connections sub folder or anywhere. It is the "USB to PC" option. Does anyone know where it is or how I can add it. It is really screwing up my active sync connection time not having it readily accessible.

3. is there any program, custom.cab or something that will allow you to accurately make 3-way calls or put someone on hold? I have dropped calls and kept answering machines on the line LONG after I thought I hung up.

Thanks in advance.

1. The only thing i can think of is that you might have the Enhanced GPS setting enabled to auto download. Look in Settings / System to check this.

2. Go to Settings / Personal / Sounds and notifications - Under the Notifications tab change the event type to email or SMS and untick the 'Display Message on Screen' option.

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

DJRedline - thanks for the help. Have changed the notification settings now (can't believe I didn't spot that option) so have fixed 2.

The enhance GPS is not on so no joy on that one

Cheers

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

Do you mean speaker-phone? If so, you will see an icon on the dialer/call screen that you press to activate/deactivate speaker phone.

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

Not sure if this is the best place to post, but I am looking for a way/app that will allow me to make calls from my pc through my omnia using the usb cable. I have to keep changing my blue tooth headset from pc, for skype, to cell phone.
You may wonder why I don't just use skype for telephone calls, basically it works out more expensive than just using the mobile with a contract, in SA anyway.

Thanks
