Re: Good vs Bad screens (pictures + videos of both)
I got a good screen Touch; I think?
Can view it from any angle indoors or under shade. It is still very bright and vivid under sunlight, but viewing angle is very limited (glare, not fading as far as I can tell) Does good screens still suffer from sunlight? (or is mine a bad screen)? |

Re: Good vs Bad screens (pictures + videos of both)
ill have to vote verizon bad screen... cause a week after i got the phone i dropped it and the screen cracked, spiderwebbing from the lower right corner.
But the screen on my new xv6900 is great. I actually don't even have a problem out in the sun either. of course the darker it is, the better, however, no problem playin on the phone while out on the beach in the sun. - angle is not a problem either. I can read the screen perfectly at any angle. Also, compared to my co-workers iPhone, the touch looks like a tube tv. Last edited by FingazFone; 08-04-2008 at 02:17 PM. |

Direct sunlight viewing
Not one to shy away from eating my words...
...a couple weeks ago I pointed out that it was apparent that the 'bad' screen had better visibility in direct sunlight, comparing it to my friend's at a bbq. Based on posts to the contrary, I did another comparison today when I met him for lunch. As I suspected since posting my findings, he wasn't running his Touch at the same brightness level I was. When I made them both full brightness, there was no practical difference in visibility; his was possibly a little sharper, while my whites were perhaps a little whiter (probably due to the blue cast from the 'bad' screens). But in all practical terms, there wasn't an appreciable difference that would help justify the polarized screen. -Doug |

Crap... was just browsing the forum wondering what this thread for bad screens was all about... after reading of course I have a "bad screen" too.
I'm not sure if it's worth trying to get a good screen or not IMO after seeing the luck of others. |

Re: Good vs Bad screens (pictures + videos of both)
I gave up. Im in CA and I visited 6 repair stores and they all told me I was insane and my screen is fine. I just cant wait for the diamond to be released so i can hit this phone with my shoe. You better believe that I will raise hell and possibly burn all Sprint store
if my Diamond has a bad screen too. Ok.. im kidding about Burning a store down but I will demand a good screen for my diamong if need be. |

I would keep my good touch over the diamond with the bad screen, if that were the case... |
