Ok, so the other thread was closed down due to a flame war.

Summary of important points from other thread.
1. It was believed over there by some that all verizon's branded touch's have good screens while sprint sreens stink. Someone over there who was employee at sprint said he saw a good sprint one, and that he checked over 20 sprints and all had bad screens much to his dismay.

2. it has nothing to do with MFG date. To

I got three accounts recently with sprint.
1: mogul swap to touch : bad screen
Touch seemed refurbed (fingerprints etc.)
2. mogul swap to touch : bad screen
touch seemed brand new
3. touch : good screen!
touch seemed refurbed (fingerprints etc.)



From the screenshots below you can see that not only is the viewing angle better, also the color is more realistic with less blue. These phones are running different roms (explains gray vs blue title bars)

I also have this issue with my Moguls, 2 have dark black screens aweful in sunlight, clear vivid colors indoors or under cover. The other is gayish, colors washed out, but I can see under the sun. It seems to be anti-reflective, it's also a refurb with a white dot and 3 wires seen behind the LCD.

My Vogue was new and it is best viewed dead on, tilting it you lose the clarity.

Are there any difference as far as Serial Number, Manufacture Date, etc? Cause that is quite a difference!

Oh man I didn't think the good screen would be that much of a difference. I would love the new screen.

Question is, what can we do through sprint to get a Touch with the good screen. I unfortunatly have the POS bad screen....

someone in the other thread did the phone swap like 4 times, still never got a good phone. He/she just gave up and decided to try to purchase a screen through verizon. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I doubt they got far (I didn't see them report back) as they're probably not equipped to sell screens separately.

I don't know for sure, but I would doubt it. Just like we wouldn't be able to buy just a screen from Sprint. They would make us send the phone in for repair/replacement.

well uh... i got my touch like 2 weeks after they came out, and i can see my screen very well at multiple angles.. i dont know what to tell ya, if anything id say its a step up from most lcd screens that are out

I just got my Touch about 30 days ago. I have a bad screen, its not blueish but if you change angles it's hard to view.

I'm an oddball in that I tend to look at my phone head on, but I guess if I had it mounted in a car it would be a pain. I think mine is the good kind although it warbles/waves when I press it so I think I'm going to exchange it if I can.
