Direct sunlight viewing
Not one to shy away from eating my words...
...a couple weeks ago I pointed out that it was apparent that the 'bad' screen had better visibility in direct sunlight, comparing it to my friend's at a bbq. Based on posts to the contrary, I did another comparison today when I met him for lunch.
As I suspected since posting my findings, he wasn't running his Touch at the same brightness level I was. When I made them both full brightness, there was no practical difference in visibility; his was possibly a little sharper, while my whites were perhaps a little whiter (probably due to the blue cast from the 'bad' screens). But in all practical terms, there wasn't an appreciable difference that would help justify the polarized screen.
