Re: Good vs Bad screens (pictures + videos of both)
After seeing the good screen, I realized that the bad one is suboptimal even when viewing straight on. The top of the screen is slightly lighter than it should be and the bottom is slightly darker. This is, of course, accentuated when tilted.
When you see the good one, it almost looks like a picture of a screen in its uniformity. ...if that makes any sense. The best example I've been able to find is in the shots at Engadget, like this one: http://www.engadgetmobile.com/photos...nds-on/890582/ |

exactly... when I had the BAD screen, and I held my phone sideways to use SprintTV, I would get headaches, because in one eye, the picture looked "okay," but the other eye would see a partially-inversed image... pretty bad, if you ask me... I really need to take care of this phone, because I probably won't find another one... and I've managed to somehow scratch the screen protector several times... which I had not done to any other phone... |

Got a Good one!
I went to my local Sprint store to see if I can have mine swapped for a good-screened one. They only had four in stock. The first one had the same bad screen so I asked the lady to open another one for me. Reluctantly, she did and viola! A good screen! Even she agreed that the difference between the screens is night and day! This is what I think: every other serial-numbered phone is a good-screened one; that's why we're getting about 50% good screens. If the first box has a bad screen try opening the one with the following serial number. Chances are you'll get a good one. I asked the lady to make a note of it and pass it to the authorities that the Sprint customers are getting aware of this apparently deliberate anomaly.

Re: Good vs Bad screens (pictures + videos of both)
Well, I had 5 bad ones in a row, but I never asked them to open multiple boxes (sequentially,) because I didn't know a good screen even existed... until I went in the last time and ended up with a good one on the first try...
Like I said, if you go in, be polite, and explain the situation, I bet they will humor your request to open more than one box... especially if you could bring some evidence that a good screen exists... You might have to visit more than one store, but it will be worth it... enjoy your new screen--I know, for me, it was like having a whole different phone... everything looks better, and feels better (my touchscreen feels sturdier, and is more responsive) |

Re: Good vs Bad screens (pictures + videos of both)
I just got my wife a matching touch today, hers has the bad screen, I hate it, she dont mind it... sprint refuses to exchange it unless it's defective, I'm about to make the piece of slit defective, and the people saying they can see the bad screens better in the sun, I tested in different lighting situations and found no difference other than the washout when you tilted the bad screen.

Re: Good vs Bad screens (pictures + videos of both)
Does anyone know if it is possible to use the Verizon XV6900 on Sprint? I don't mind the glossy white color, but if the screens are consistently good. Then I'd rather get that phone and use it on the Sprint network (if I can).

Not possible. Sprint will only accept Sprint phones, and from what i have heard they have a database of all the ESN's they own.
