Re: Help Internet Failure with rev A (was working)

The "username" looks like the ESN. How many characters in the password? Is it 17 as shown in your example (or is that a random number of X's)?

telecom

I changed the user and pass (x) above.

So it looks like everybody has his own username = device serial and his own password.

I will verifiy the setting on another fried's phone to see if the password is the same, but I cant believe that this will be the case.

Cheers

That is awesome news. I am sure this is the cause of all our problems

I agree with tr3v that the user name is your ESN@evdo.jamamobile.co.nz

The million dollar question is the password the same for everyone or generated somehow.

I rang telecom to find some answers. When I asked the help desk person for someone with more technical knowledge she hung up on me! LMFAO.

Update: Ok I managed to get a telecom store guy to check on his phone. Unfortunately his password is different to the one above

Password: 8c5n23eca17a(xxxx) - so it is 16 characters long. (x) to hide the rest of it.

Re: Help Internet Failure with rev A (was working)

Hi Guys,

I checked another original touch and the password was totally different. Grrr

The next question is if the password is random or calculated.

But even if it is calculated I wont nt help us.

Re: Help Internet Failure with rev A (was working)

hmm don't know if this going to help... leave the password blank and type your esn@evdo.... and then go to settings > connections> connections and add new modem connection .. compelete the setup and when you get to the username and password type this "mobile@jamamobile" and password "telecom".... of course without the quotes. another thing to check is the MIP settings.. check the MIP_Mode check with a friend that has connection to see what mode he is using..

hope this helps

Thanks again. I just tried this, and I got all excited because I thought it had worked, but it must have been a cached webpage that I went to. I checked the Security Settings and the password has remained blank, and the EVDO connection still fails.

Question Re: Help Internet Failure with rev A (was working)

Not sure if this will help but Draiko over at XDA gave me this solution he used to fix internet settings...

--------------
I had to restore my IP and Sprint internet usersettings

##DATA#

Select EDIT
Type in your code (not sure what yours would be)
select MENU and RESTORE
Done
----------------

I can't get ## codes to work at all on my phone so just accss epst through windows. Anyone else get this to work?

This got you rev A, or you had to do this just to get internet access back?

Think I might have to sweet talk telecom in to giving me my password or resting it on the network end of things.
