Re: Help Internet Failure with rev A (was working)

OK, I found my MSL, to get yours run pocketputty, connect to Serial COM9 with no handshaking and type
AT+HTC_RMSL=0
It should display your MSL.
Why have a secret number that is that easy to get!!!!!
Now, anybody know what settings need to be changed in the EPST menu?

Re: Help Internet Failure with rev A (was working)

OK, download pocketputty from here:
http://www.pocketputty.net/
run putty.exe on your phone
change the box that says SSH to Serial
change serial line to COM9:
in the serial tab change flow control to none
click open
type ATV1
It should reply with OK, if not, close and try again perhaps with a different speed, 9600 worked for me though.
type AT+HTC_RMSL=0 in capitals
and it will reply with your MSL.
I had to reset the phone before it would work in the ##778 menu.
Hope this helps.

Re: Help Internet Failure with rev A (was working)

Thanks Ginnie that worked a charm for me. Would put a 'Thanks' to your post but haven't worked out how that is done.

Ok now I can get into EPST and I can now see security settings. The ppp user Id show "mobile@jamamobile" and "telecom" which is correct. The other two options are blank. 'HRD An Auth' user and password.

The modem settings are
Slot Cycle index = 2
Preferred Server System = Standard
Preferred Mode = Automatic
HDR Hybrid Preferred = Enable
Clear all MRU entry = NO

Any ideas on what needs to be changed etc. Does any one have different settings to mine.

Cheers

Smile Re: Help Internet Failure with rev A (was working)

Hey I have just been chating with Trv3 and have found that our MSL codes are excatly the same. So I guess all telecom okta touches are the same

So to save people on Telecom the hassle of using Putty the MSL code is "658824"

LOL so much for secuirty.

Ps Thanks wldthng842

When I go to security I have:

HDR AN Auth User Id(LONG)

-That has ****@hcm.sprintpcs.com

HDR AN Auth Password(LONG)

-That has a bunch of symbols

PPP USER ID

-blank

PPP PASSWORD

-blank

Are my settings correct? I havent entered passwords, didnt let alltel customizations run and using JD's test ROM on top of that. I havent had any problems accessing the internet, I'm just not sure I have rev A speeds yet.

Re: Help Internet Failure with rev A (was working)

OK, looks like we need to find somebody who hasn't upgraded their OKTA touch and find out what their settings are.

It could be that this radio just isn't compatible with our EVDO network, in that case we could probably go back to the old radio by flashing the sprint factory ROM (containing the old radio) and then the TNZ dumped OS rom.

I'll wait a while and see if it can be fixed first though.

Re: Help Internet Failure with rev A (was working)

Hi Guys,

I checked it on a friend's phone:
36B107XX@evdo.jamamobile.co.nz
410aa09bb67XXXXXX
mobile@jamamobile
telecom

I changed the user and pass (x) above.

So it looks like everybody has his own username = device serial and his own password.

I will verifiy the setting on another fried's phone to see if the password is the same, but I cant believe that this will be the case.

Cheers
Enno
