No. Unfortunately once you have lost it the only way to get it back is to send you device into a Telecom store to get reflashed.

Re: Telecom NZ - Upgrade Issues (and fixs)

There's a 9 page thread all about flashing Okta Touch's on Geekzone.co.nz which talks about this:

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp...0623&page_no=1

and in that thread, a thread on this site is repeatedly reccomended:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=24979

However, whenever I try to click on that link I get the following message:

HappySlave, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
  1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
  2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
What's up with that? Am I just not cool enough to flash the rom on my Okta? D:

That link used to go to DHarveys (very useful) thread on flashing ROMs and recovering bricked phones. Unfortunately, Dharvey now has a chip on his sholder about PPCGeeks and has pulled all his posts off the site.

Hrmmm... Sux.

Is there any alternative source of information for the same thing, any complete walkthroughs around? It would be good, I don't really know anyone who is likely to bother with this sort of stuff, so if I bollox it up, I'll be up the creek without a paddle.

Hi Zeebob -- I am interested in your walkthrough, did you manage to upload it yet? Thanks!

Re: Telecom NZ - Upgrade Issues (and fixs)

hey folks,

found this solution for recovering the evdo password

Do a full 20 megabyte memory dump and use hex editor to search for "secret". you should see a section with 2 "secret" places... the 16 bytes after a 10 are the password. take those 16 bytes and enter it in PST programming in hex and should be a ok. This was done on a phone that had connected to EVDO before, if i remember correctly a non-connected phone would not have that password yet. You can try to ##RTN# or ##DATA# and do a reset if it will calculate that field to the phone before connecting.

Let me know if that works for you.
seems easy enough, but what programs are needed to do this? seems good as the evdo/hdr password is 16 characters long.

fingers crossed this works.. sick of scouring the net for a solution!

That's a shame.

Does anyone have any of those posts archived somewhere?

Also, has anyone put together a comprehensive TCNZ flashing guide? I've backed up my HDR passwords which from the look of it is a very good start!
