Re: Telecom NZ - Upgrade Issues (and fixs)

I loaded the Sprint rom and radio then I loaded WDM's Diamond theme rom - clean Sprint onto a Telecom NZ Touch.
Both times I did not let customizations run.

Everything works fine even internet was sweet. And calling.
I then found the GPS wouldn't lock so I ran PPST in the windows folder, after a soft boot everything still works internet and calling is fine.

But now all my contacts with 027XXXXXXX get prefixed with a 1 in front whenever dialling, even manually entering a number 0276104138, it will get auto prefixed with 10276104138. This gives disconnected tone.
I have made sure my region is set to English - New Zealand.
Its also adding the 1 prefix on 0800 free phone numbers, but not on local landline, and not on Vodafone 021XXXXXX numbers. Whats going on?!

Any ideas?

Whats this TNZ Dial settings CAB? Where can i get that from?

Re: Telecom NZ - Upgrade Issues (and fixs)

Yeah, the cooks tend to recommend loading a stock rom off the HTC site before loading their one. (eg http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=30332 )
The TNZ dial CAB was at http://www.lifesnotsogood.com/dcd118...2020080719.cab but that link was dead last time I looked. I could email it to you if you can't find it elsewhere.
There are programs around to back up your phone settings, but I haven't seen one that takes an image of the whole phone. Dunno if anyone else can help there....?

On the dialer screen, choose Menu>Options>Services. Scroll down to 'Automatic Prepend' and disable it.
TNZ CAB was at http://www.lifesnotsogood.com/dcd118...2020080719.cab but link appears to be dead. I could email it to you if you can't find it elsewhere.

Re: Telecom NZ - Upgrade Issues (and fixs)

I flashed my touch with OMJ's rom. Everything went well i have not found any problems with day to day use and GPS works well.
Only issuse is when txt'n It's sending them in 8bit mode and when i get to 140chars the phone splits the text into 2 texts. How do i change it back to 7bit so i can send 160char sms's again?

It should reply with OK, if not, close and try again perhaps with a different speed, 9600 worked for me though.
type AT+HTC_RMSL=0 in capitals
and it will reply with your MSL.
I had to reset the phone before it would work in the ##778 menu.
Hope this helps.
Sir thanks a million... u saved our phone to become brick many thanks

Re: Telecom NZ - Upgrade Issues (and fixs)

Hi Wudzi,

I used Almost OEM 6.1 Sprint ROM v.3.0 coz I like it. GPS is working good.
I found a problem with the prefix 1 when make a call but not all of them. I tried with the disable thingy but still the same.

May I ask what is this TNZ dial CAB for? The link is dead. Do you still have the copy or anyone? Is it necessary?

DCD TNZ settings cab dosn't do anything that you can't do manually. It wont help with your prefix problem.

To resolve your problem you could try installing a new dialer which may help.

As noted elsewhere, you can manually configure the settings for TNZ pretty easily. However, the cabs are now at http://dcd1182.n715dp.com/index.php?dir=carriers%2F . I found Sprint to be the least compatible ROM to use with TNZ mainly because of their customised IOTA, video, email and other stuff. Running the Bell Dialler CAB from the link above and then the TNZ one may do it for you. (It did it for me before I moved off Sprint-based ROMs altogether)
I vaguely recall that on the Sprint ROMs I've used there was something else besides 'Automatic Prepend' which I had to change (In phone>menu>options>services). Sorry I can't be more helpful but their ain't no way I'm loading up a Sprint ROM anytime soon

PS - Setting that needed disabling under 'services' was PLUS CODE DIAL
