How shortsighted can you be? Palm decided to make even more money by keeping PalmOS in MOST of their phones (do the math) and also releasing a couple with WM5.

PalmOS = no multitasking = useless.

Since we locked the iPhone thread, can we lock this one too please? ...

Boo hoo. Some Touch users are so sensitive. God forbid that any device do anything better than the soon-to-be-replaced Touch.

move to the Treo 755p

Ok, I feel your discouragement and understand your frustrations!

I owned a Samsung i500 for many years and loved it! But things change and it was time to move on due to it’s limitations, not so much the Palm OS but the device itself, …like no SMS!

So I moved to the Treo 755p and moved all my info over to it and was up and running in 15 minuets. I loved the 755p, what a great phone and great implementation of Palm OS.

But it too had limitations for me, and I moved to the Touch. …BIG LEARNING CURVE!!!!
…Lots of tweeks and hacks to be done.

But that’s the nature of the Windows Mobile 6 OS, the sky is the limit to what can be done with it! It will even emulate Palm OS with StyleTap for PocketPC…. http://www.styletap.com

So the question is, do you want to get up and running with all the applications you are use to plus lots of improvements and new ones? Or do you have the time to fight with the Activesync roadblocks as you have been doing.

So, being a former i500 user, I suggest for now you move to the Treo 755p and you will love it!

Keep your Touch in the meantime and work out the problems. My guess is that after you have had the 755p a couple of weeks you’ll just keep it.

Shortsighted?

Since the induction of WM into a palm phone, the OS by phone list is:

PalmOS treos: (in order of release)
680 (same hadware as the WM 750 treo slight changes to the palmOS)
700p (same as the 650)
755p (same as the 700p)
Centro (not a treo but same out dated OS)

WM treos: (in order of release)
750 (FIRST antenna less treo and first WM treo)
700w/wx (FIRST CDMA WM treo)
500v (FIRST totaly new form factor since the intro of 650)

up next is: Treo 800w (new form factor, possible first treo with wifi....)

most of palm's recent innovation has taken place with the WM mobile line of treos because WM allows for more flexability. Face it dude...palm OS is DEAD.

The sad thing is that even though PalmOS hasn't seen any significant updates in years, it's will worlds better than WM6 in a lot of ways.

The Centro recently crushed all sales expectations by Palm and Sprint and has far outsold any WM phone on Sprint.

I'm really looking forward to the 800w. Real threaded SMS, QWERTY keyboard, high-res screen and better size than the Mogul. Should be a good one.

If you hate WM so much, why don't you get off of this forum and go shove your fanboyism down someone else's throat.

Seriously. If WM is so bad, why are you here?

Of course the Centro crushed expectations. ITS 99 DOLLARS FOR A FULL-FEATURED PDA!

If the Touch was 99 bucks, it would have had AT LEAST 30% more sales than the Centro!

But the fact of the matter is, its not 99 bucks, its 249, and that's a huge price gap.

Now go troll somewhere else...
