Re: Who plans to go HD2?
Getting back to the original topic, my IT guy here at work has been trying to talk me into getting the HD2, but after typing on the Omnia's cramped touchscreen for a whole year, it'll be a while before I ever give up my keyboard again.
Sure the HD2 has a larger screen which will make the typing a little easier, but a touchscreen will never feel the same as pushing the actual tactile keys of a true keyboard. Plus, have you seen the size of the HD2? Any bigger and they may as well call the thing a tablet instead of a phone EDIT: Forgot to add, I'm also a little worried about a measly 1230 mAh battery being able to power a snapdragon processor and a 4.3-inch screen for long periods of time... I understand that power management may be better, but still. Keep in mind, the TP2 battery is 1500 mAh and there are threads in the forum almost weekly about how unsatisfactory the battery life is Last edited by Eschelon; 12-29-2009 at 05:44 PM. |

1 and 2 are the same technology not the same thing, read my post correctly man. As soon as voice and data are possible so will that conference call feature. whether its true cell tower lock or not, it instantly finds me, so thats the advantage you were talking about. As for everything else you keep continuing to go back to who has more customers and people leaving sprint, the fact that they have more customers is irrelavent to who has a better network. The reason you know this is because most of the people that leave sprint is because of customer service, not the network. Ask the majority of the people who had sprint that left and 80% of them will tell you because of customer service. Hey i'm not here to convince you to come to sprint or verizon, if you don't want to then its up to you. do you wonder why tmobile has the cheapest plans, its because they have the worst network. Sprint has the 2nd cheapest plans, its because we have the worst customer service and are losing customers everyday because. there is a reason for all the maddness. to get this thread back on track, as everyone here, except saltydawg, has stated, I will not leave sprint to get this phone but sprint better be picking this up soon after or at least definitely before verizon.

Re: Who plans to go HD2?
Guys, please don't forget that HD2 is only "special" because its the first capacitive touch screen and because it has an extremely large screen.
For those of you guys planning on getting it, take into consideration of HTC's roadmap for 2010. It's loaded with phones that have capacitive touchscreens and also phones that have larger screens than the TP2 (though not bigger than the HD2). Seriously, the HD2 is only a hype, future phones will definitely have capacitive touch screens and have large, very large screens. |

Re: Who plans to go HD2?
What's wrong with a healthy debate? This debate is deffinitely part of the topic (switching carriers for a phone). It's nice to debate and let people learn the real deal. Clearly, people have been fed the line that CDMA is better than GSM for far too long. Cheaper, yes. Better coverage in some places, yes. But the technology itself pales when compared to GSM.

I have no problems with a debate, it just seemed to be getting more about the network than the actual topic of the thread (the HD2). My biggest problems with GSM are that the voice quality is poor and it's coverage is down right apauling when it comes to data. I live just outside Charlotte and there is no 3G coverage here. In the city, sure. But travel to any of the suburbs and you are SOL. Meanwhile, I rarely come across a place without EVDO coverage even when I go way up in the boonies. While I would like Voice/Data, I find that I'm more likely to be in a place with Wi-Fi (in which case I can do voice/data simultaneously with CDMA device) than a place with 3G (GSM) coverage when I need it. So yes GSM certainly has benefits, but I think they are either unnecessary or too hard to come by to make the switch worthwhile. |

Re: Who plans to go HD2?
Talking and surfing.... Huh...
IF YOU CAN FIND A SIGNAL! I have alot of iphone friends and family. They're always running like one bar of signal strength or no service. NONE of them have yet showed me that feature. What's the point? So you can make reservations while you are on the phone with your BFF... OMG! How coool. LOL. If the HD2 comes to sprint I'm all over it. If not... I keep my TP2 which I love and I wait for W7 and what it promises to bring with it. p. |
