Re: Who plans to go HD2?

basically you have gsm phones and cdma phones. its not going to be a situation where we have gsm, cdma, wimax, and lte. thats not the case. You will still have gsm vs cdma, what ever you want to use for the 3g coverage isn't going to implement a whole new line up of phones. on that situation this is my only point. if you thought i meant they were the exact same thing then i'm sorry.

Well just wait until it becomes more cost efficient to run phone connections on the data system. Then you'll have WiMax and LTE. But already, SaltyDawg has convinced me that WiMax might be the HD-DVD of mobile data technology. And we all know where that went.

lol, no man, I know that is what you mean. I am telling you, you're wrong. Wimax and LTE are going to be the new data standards going forward. So yes, ther eis GSM and CDMA right now, and there will be Wimax and LTE in the future. EVDO will become the 1x of the future, and HSPA will become the EDGE of the future.

And maybe Wimax won't implement a whole new lineup of phones (that is exactly what I am saying, by the way- the only Wimax phones will be ones that Sprint has to custom order) but there will absolutely be a whole new lineup of LTE phones. Just about every carrier in the world that has commited to a standard has commited to LTE. So as dominant as GSM is right now, LTE will be even more dominant- as even most CDMA providers are going LTE in the future- except Sprint.

Re: Who plans to go HD2?

as for the future i to have wondered about that and have wondered why sprint chose wimax but that is the future and at least a year a way before lte is implemented. My debate was to NOW, and right now tmobile sucks compared to cdma in the united states. when the hd2 comes out (obviously before lte is implemented, so it will be at least evdo rev a) I will not go to tmobile to buy the hd2.

I think the point originally before it branched off was that T-Mobile doesn't suck.

If you want to argue coverage, I'm glad T-mobile doesn't have it way out in the sticks. It will keep me from going out there.

You will not drag me back into the fight. Please stop attempting to derail the thread again. It already got WAY off track.

Well the HD2 will obviously be out before LTE is implemented, no question. But, T-Mobile may very well have a nationwide 21 meg HSPA+ network when the HD2 comes out...

EXACTLY. I can't wait. Since arguing that Verizon rips people off isn't good enough, a faster 3G might be.
