I had sprint right before this and It also was fast but would switch to 1x quit alot every now and then, granted for like 1 min. vs 1 hour 3g... But I maybe go on Edge now with tmobile maybe like once every few days for like 20 sec..............

So, Tmobiles speeds dont suck, its that their coverage isnt as wide as the others, but where ya get good 3g, its definantly just as fast... I never leave my town and have driven 30 miles each way around me and still get great 4 bar 3g where as with sprint id get 2 bars 3g................... And if your experience with them was in the past like in 2003, shutup, its 7 years later lol........
I agree with you on all this. I have never had any problems, but that's probably because I'm not talking on my phone like a yenta 20 hours a day.

Re: Who plans to go HD2?

The thing I find most funny is in probably a couple of months, at&t won't be able to claim the nations fastest 3G network. It will be T-Mobile "Get more SPEED" lol

Lets review, by the end of the year:

1. At&t won't be the nations fastest 3G Network
2. At&t won't have iPhone exclusivitly
3. At&t still will be having bandwidth issues
4. At&t will have the least amount of 3G coverage of major carriers

At&t is going bleed customers faster than sprint did!

This is what I'm hoping for. AT&T still gets the best phones, and they have good coverage where I need it. If they start bleeding customers and are forced to drastically lower their prices, sign me up.

T-Mobile still has low prices though and will have the best 3G by the end of 2010 (as you said) so they are certainly a major consideration if they get some good phones.

They are already improving their coverage more aggressively than any other carrier. I don't think Sprint is any better than T-Mobile in that regard these days. Most of the people saying T-Mobile has coverage issues are talking about experiences from years ago.

The funny thing is that while T-Mobile will be busy working at the best 3G by end of 2010 both Sprint and Verizon will have been busy building out their 4G networks. A day late and a dollar short I'm afraid.

T-Mobile's scheduled to release their 3G+ within the next couple months, which is said to rival 4G networks. Sprint's 4G is out with no phones to support it until mid-summer 2010. And full 4G roll-out for Sprint and Verizon not expected for a few years (2013-2014).

That doesn't sound too late to me.

Plus, T-Mobile might just buy out Sprint, which throws the whole thing overboard.

What's even funnier is T-Mobile's 3G will be just as fast, if not faster, than Sprint's 4G. And there will be plenty of device support for it, unlike Sprint's WiMax.

People seem to be missing the fact that T-Mobile is rolling out 21 meg HSPA+, not your typical, average, every day 3G (which AT&T's current "fastest in the nation" is 7.2 meg HSPA).

Actually im talking firsthand in experience from THIS year... earlier this year I was with T-mobile and I live dead smack in the middle of the Atlanta metro area. I couldnt get any reception in my house period... had to sit my phone by the window just to get a bar and even then randomly my voicemail thing would go off and I would have 5 voicemails and the phone never rung.

I switched to Sprint and I get 4 bars in my house..plus the data speed is way better.
