having trouble charging the battery after froyo update via usb cable

I have a rooted evo and i have tried several of the froyo roms that were released on 8/3 such as fresh, omj, s3vo and i have the same problem with all of them. i can charge just fine with the wall charger or thru car charger but when i plug in via usb cable from my pc to the evo, it will show up the menu momentarily where u can choose between charge only or mount as drive but the battery icon on top doesn't change to the bolt of lightning indicating that battery is being charged.
anyone else having this issue?
i had no trouble before the froyo update regarding this matter.
Tia.

p.s. i just noticed that the battery will charge hooked up to usb if i turn off the phone because now the orange led is on.

Re: Android Market...server problems?

FYI, not sure if you should consider your "softreset" instructions as a true softreset, as all your doing is powering the phone off, then on again. Which technically does a softreset, but in two steps.

In my opinion, a true softreset is one that automatically reboots the phone with one process.

The EVO has that built in. It is rather cumbersome, but if you old both volume buttons down at the same time you press and hold the normal power button, after about 5 seconds, the phone will reboot on its own, WITHOUT having to press the power button again.

Personal preference I guess.

Not hating, just helping out.

Hard reset: Turn the power off. If your HTC EVO 4G is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
Hold the Volume Down button
Press and release the Power button
You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
Press and release the Power button
Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO

voice search has to be manually stoped to kill

nice to see that google makes voice search always run in the background if you use it.

Re: Please help

No your best bet is to pull the battery once you reached the tri-angle screen...go back into boot loader (what ever recovery you have doesn't like the update) if you are even fully rooted...do a recovery if possible and then go to find simple root...

re: FroYo 2.2 Update -- Bugs & Issues

I am absolutely furious about the fact that now NONE of my Ip cameras that I monitor for my business work!!!!! And for that tech from HTC to say that IPcamera's didn't work in the last version 2.1 is just so absurd . The plain fact is that the update 2.2 did something to stops the ports from getting to their location I have a log on my system at work and it sees what ip tries to connect and when Total Control (which worked fine b4 the update)tries from my phone It doesn’t even show that it tries to login to my server . Not to mention that Testtube worked just fine before and also now doesn’t ever get to the port.

With the Froyo update I no longer can edit an event in calendar without it losing the previous description? Anyone else notice this?

re: FroYo 2.2 Update -- Bugs & Issues

I'm rooted and using OMJ's rom for 2.2 - anyone notice email (both pop and IMAP) take (IMO) longer on this version to connect to servers?

I haven't done an actual speed test but 3G just seems to be slower. I do have the latest radio as well.

Also.. another oddity... I can't think what you call it.. but the g sensor... when in email or messages.. it seems to get "stuck" in landscape mode.
