Something to try, if your phone is slowing down on froyo

My phone after updating to Froyo was becoming a little bit annoying. It would become really sluggish, slow, battery life went down the toilet and worst of all the browser was jumpy and not fluid at all anymore.
It got so bad that when I would turn my screen on from what was supposed to be sleep, it would take about 5 seconds before there was any screen response, just to unlock the phone. Then another few seconds before the screen responded again.
I did not add any new apps, although I do understand some older apps may not be written for froyo and could cause problems. Everything was pretty much the same from 2.1 to 2.2. I did add Netarchys 3.7.6c froyoized kernal over top of OMJ.

Here is the something to try that worked wonders for my phone. Boot into recovery and wipe cache and davlik just like you would if you were flashing a new rom. Only thing is dont flash a new rom, just wipe and reboot. See if that helps with the overall sluggishness of the phone with Froyo. It worked for mine, screen response is great again, and the three browsers I use (skyfire, dolphin hd and stock) all scroll fluidly again. Battery life is up in the air only been a day.

The only thing that gets erased is the cache and davlik cache...you wont notice a thing. All your settings, passwords everything will remain intact.

edit: I did have to re install flash 10.1, my browser kept closing when attempting to load a video, installed the apk and works again. Do not know if it is related or not.

Re: 4G problem after the foyo update

Maybe HTC implemented a power save feature within Froyo to turn 4G off if there is no signal avaiable. I'm not sure what kind of signal you get where you are...but this could be a cause. If that is not the case try hard resetting your phone. There have been instances where after updating your phone to a new ROM some things doing work at first, but generally work after a hard reset. Don't know why...but if you ask anyone else this is the general consensus. It would also help to tell us where you live (town) and if you have (4G) signal were your at.

Major battery issues on Froyo

with a full charge & 7 hrs of NON use, battery is at 2 bars! I never had a battery issue on 2.1. Since the upgrade, battery drains super quick & runs really hot. Any1 else have this issue or a fix for this? I did a hard reset after 2.2, everything seems to be working fine, just really poor battery life....

Re: Major battery issues on Froyo

Nope no problems here, and I am on stock 2.2 through the offical full nbh update. Probably get 2 days on it if I wasn't used to plugging it in before bed every night. I decided against the ota 2.2 update due to the fact that every ota that comes out seems to bring problems with it.

Re: Major battery issues on Froyo

It sounds like you have an app or two running in the background that is not letting your phone sleep properly.
