im in RI, they told me they cant order any more 6700s and no parts are available. The only snag people may get is having 6700s on hand. I didnt go into a corporate store i went into the full repair center

I used to think that I wanted a Mogul as an insurance replacement, but then my brother bought one and is having some problems with it. Until there are some ROMs and kitchens out for the Mogul, I'd much rather stick with a 6700, since I too have the 3200 mAh extended battery, extra large holster, and 2GB MiniSD card - all of which would be useless with the Mogul.

my 6800
Well I stopped by my sprint store today ( Va beach, store near va beach blvd/Independence) and picked up my brand new 6800. I bought my 6700 from my friend for 100 bucks so I lucked out. I asked the rep who was helping me as to why I was getting an upgrade and she told me the only reason I'm getting one is because they don't have any refurbed 6700's. She stated if they had any, I would have received a 6700. She also stated whenever they receive 6700's they ship them back 3 days later. Hope other people are as fortunate as I was.

Well since I started this thread, thought I'd give an update. I've seen a number of posts of folks like me who had upgraded their 6700 to a 3.5 ROM and were so pleased with its speed and stability that they weren't sure that moving to a Mogul would be worth it. I was in that group.
Got the Mogul today, and I've got to say.....Wow!. Waaaaay faster than the 6700 and so far, very stable. I've had none of the issues that some folks have posted regarding things like Voice Command. Just seeing that available 140+ mg of storage kind of got me aroused when I started loading it up with my programs. No more need to think about which programs I needed to be sure to put in Main Memory or could be moved to the Storage Card. Also, I love the size and weight. No more brick feeling. We're now in the same size league as those guys with the Treo's, but with a real keyboard. For those who get an upgrade because of a 6700 replacement, one word of caution. What got shipped to the store was just the unit itself (not sure if rufurb or not). Basically, the order got treated like a Mogul-to-Mogul replacement. When I saw that, I realized that there are some parts, namely the adapters for the headphones that aren't something a 6700 owner would have and pointed that out to them. They traded out the unit that had been sent for a full retail box, including all accessories. |

Well I just went to pick up by new phone today, and low and behold I got another 6700. I dropped it off on Sunday, and as I was dropping it off the guy next to me got a 6800 for his 6700 so I had my fingers crossed. So a word of caution, that at least in some places Sprint just got a new batch of 6700s and is shipping them out.
