Sprint replacing damaged 6700 with Mogul

The USB port on my 6700 went out this week and I took it to a Sprint store to see if they could fix it or get me a replacement 6700. No go on the fix and they informed me that they no longer had any 6700's to order and would have to replace it with a Mogul. Now normally, I would jump at the chance for an upgrade, but I have an extended battery, holster and a new 2 GB mini SD card that won't work on the Mogul. Plus I just spent the last couple of weeks upgrading the ROM and really getting the 6700 working great.

I basically begged them to see about finding a 6700, but they couldn't. When we talked about the issue of the accessories, the manager agreed to throw in an extra battery and a 2 GB micro SD card. So I guess I can live with it.

Sure, got a real great way. Look at the bar at the top of the page (Under all the PPC's). Second from the right is a tab labeled search. Click the tab, follow the prompts and input your question. The answers are here if you look. We're glad to help, but use the resources such as search here, sometimes that's quicker than waiting for someone to post an answer.

Um, if I were with Sprint I would trade you my 6700 for your 6800 since you do want to upgrade and rather keep what you have. But unfortunately, Im with VZW

id trade my 6700 for a 6800. MY keyboard is dying and the D button barely works. I guess it was from too much texting. I just dont want to flash it back to stock and swap it and get stuck with a crappy refurb 6700.

Wink Scoop

I spoke with a manager today since I have been waiting over a week now for some type of replacement. The alignment on my screen is screwy after 1 year of use, and several drops. He said there policy is to find a ppc 6700 either new or refurbed first, then they will look for a treo 700, and then if they can't find either of those we would then get a mogul 6800. There is a shortage of ppc 6700 now, at least in MI.

PS- I will receive a new one tomorrow (6700) which I am very grateful for, especially since Helmi has liberated us to WM6.

PSS- The squeeky wheel gets the oil, so be persistent if you need a replacement. I called the Sprint store after 5 days, and found out that nothing had been done to find me a new phone. The tech said something about they were waiting on an allocation of funds for phone replacement, whatever that means, since I pay the insurance premium every bill. Just be nice, but persistent.

I recently downloaded ArcSoft's MMS application. After downloading the registry editor (phm regedit), I was able to send pic and video mail from my mogul. The only problem I have with the program is that I have to type in the phone number before I send it. Because the mogul spoils you during the message process by letting you type in the receipent's name, I don't know a lot of my contact points by hard, and find it a tad bit bothersome to toggle between my phone book and my MMS account. Is there a hack/link that will tie my contacts to my MMS account?
