My ppc6700 crashed like crazy, keeps dropping calls, i tried to reload it with a ton of diff. roms, change the settings in #778, and going to about 10 diff. PRL's! I went to sprint and they're placing it, on the receipt it says 6700

so I will have a brand new ppc6700, anyone wanna trade me for a mogul!?

if nothing else i'll do some "tweaking" in a few weeks so my phone won't work and see if I can talk em into giving me a 6800, this is my 3rd 6700 within 2 1/2 years, hardware failures keep occuring!

w00t I gotz me a mogulz

Yeh... I took my 6700 which apparently I um.. sat on.. into the store. The screen had interesting colors on it. They swapped me out with a brand new in box 6800. I wasnt planning on it.. I really wanted the 6700. But now.. with being able to flash the moguls, I am happy with it!

6700.. RIP... you treated me well for the last 2 and a half years.. all 4 of you.

Well today for the like 6th time here in San Antonio, Texas I got a new 6700 in a box they tried to get me a refurb they had but it was broken 2 go figure... The tech also said they can still order those 6700 refurbs so it's really YMMV as far as I can see. i really want the 6800 personally but at least I had a brand new 6700 in the mean time. Good Luck guys!

you can try going to your Sprint store and see if they replace your 6700
if there is nothing wrong with your 6700 then I don't think Sprint is going to give you Mogul

Aye, that I did. By now, they have brand new in the box 6700s back in stock so good luck to anyone else who tries this route.

I don't consider a hacked bootloader and minorly-hacked carrier ROMs to be custom... so I guess we have different definitions in which case, your statement of the kitchen being maybe 2 months away would work for my statement that custom ROMs aren't here yet.

You have poor knowledge of those ROMs. Custom ROMs by casual users aren't here yet, but custom ROMs are definitely here.

Once again. I was talking about the kitchen. ROMs built off of a kitchen are the ONLY custom ROMs in my mind.

Keep in mind that one word or phrase can have many different meanings in other people's minds.

The current state of affairs is a hackjob right now and while its appreciated, its not fully realized until a kitchen is done and ROMs are actually cooked from scratch.

This happened to me very recently as well.. My usb port was not right, because if it was plugged in, it would trip the sound port, causing no sound from the receiver or the loud speaker.

So I too took it into sprint and had to get it replaced. I didn't care if I got the 6700, cause I had the WM6 update for it anyways ^_^.

So I returned about a month later, cause they never called me and it's a long drive to the sprint store that I sent it to (1 hour drive). And I found out that they gave away my replacement phone to "Someone who needed it".

So here I am standing with a broken phone, and they said to me that they didn't have any more 6700's to replace me with, so they upgraded me to a Mogul 6800 for free. I kept quiet, bought a 1Gig MicroSD and left happy. Too bad I can't use my MiniSD (sigh)
