Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

I started seeing this with the last build and hard reset, but it's still here.
I used this dialer perfectly before the ROM from 20273 that I tried two flashes ago. This is the iPhone Dialer (CDMA) . If I remember correctly, when I used it with the previous ROMs, the blue line at the top was much narrower, the phone status icons were a little higher and the bottom buttons were all arranged correctly. When I actually use this dialer, I also get a misplaced "End" key that is to the right of the "Call" key.
Can I just install another dialer or will this require another hard reset and flash?

I'm also getting an erro message saying that "Required module not in project" after the latest PPCGeeks_OEM.rar update. It specifies "Track Me GPSTool", but since my device doesn't have a useable GPS, I've never specified or used any of the GPS tools.

If I modify anything, in the kitchen, I get the RUU stopped working error. I would greatly appreciate any information you have about this. Just don't want to waste my time, if this will NEVER work on Vista with bootloader 1.00. But have hope becuase Helmi's rom did load....
Seems like I had it work once everytime I reloaded WMDC. As a general rule, 1.00 and Vista are not happy together. There was a thread recently about RNDIS and USB - can't recall if that was about activesync or general connectivity. You might search for it and give it a whirl.

Yes, you can install another dialer without hard reseting.

I believe that required module error is already fixed for next update.

Port 80

I know I mention this every few weeks, but:

WHEN ARE YOU GUYS GOING TO MAKE THE KITCHEN LOG IN OVER PORT 80 !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've always been a huge supporter of the team here (you guys do great work). But it's absolutely retarded how you have the login setup up on the new kitchen, and that it still doesn't function over port 80.

Can't be. Why is it being caught by my firewall then? I have port 80 WIDE open in both directions. Can you email me the IP address it's trying to access so I can compare with my Firewall logs?

Rom Size

Ummm.....

I'm just using the Kitchen for the first time in weeks (as I've been satisfied with my phone.... and only using the Kitchen now for a insurance replacement phone). For some reason I'm constantly getting the error that the ROM file is to big. I have my options back to almost nothing (and MUCH less than what I used before...in fact, at first I made no selections but loaded my last saved selection file). What gives? Is this a bug.... or is the ROM size different (I do see my bootloader is 1.04 when it originally was 1.00).

This represents a SIGNIFICANT decrease in apps I had successfully installed with this kitchen previously. (A month back or so).

1.04 is a significantly smaller ROM. However, you shouldn't be seeing that during build...just during flash (because it is currently set to v1.00 size for all bootloaders). I don't know what you installed before, but my guess is that some of the apps have been updated and are now bigger than last you used. The kitchen itself has not changed in many weeks, outside of ppcgeeks_oem.rar.

Maybe because when http fails it tries some other ports (yes, it's a bug...a leftover from a bygone era)?

Find me in Chat.

1) Does the Kitchen know it's a smaller ROM if I choose 1.04 in the pull-down menu?
2) Is there a way to change the bootloader on my phone? Or am I screwed now?
2b) How significant a difference between 1.0 and 1.04?

Though I found a thread on forum.xda-developers.com claiming 1.04 has the same partitions as 1.00 and 1.02).
Confused!

The apps used haven't changed much in version history (if at all....). I come close to a bare no frills install.

Hmmm.....
