I was having this error yesterday, so last night I redownloaded the msi file and reinstalled everything. Getting frustrating.
The updater bug was fixed nearly a week ago. At the same time, the first checkbox was forced as selected and disabled.

Your error, "Can't copy PPC-BuildOS.exe" is because the destination file is locked by another process. If you can't spot the process (usually you can see that buildos is running), then reboot your computer and run the updater manually (before you run buildos).

Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

Evening all,

I was searching through the threads looking for something when I came across the following thread:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...ghlight=extrom

Has anyone of our genius Apache kitchen experts ever thought about incorporating this into the Apache kitchen. I am betting you would have alot of very happy Apache people if this trick could be pulled off.

Steve

I just updated and I'm still getting the file create error with the vogue camera selected. I thought I had read that was fixed for apache, or did I read something wrong?

Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

I have tried searching but been fruitless so far. WHAT do I select for REV and RUU ? Everything else "appears" straightforward.

Also do I need to have active sync installed? Prefer not to do not like the software and have no use for it either way. Will I be able to just copy this to the memory card or something ? (I have not gotten to the lets do it step yet so want to find out in advance)

Thanks!

Chris,

So lets start at the top. Do you know what version of the bootloader you have? Usually its like 1.04 or 2.05. Something like that. The way to find out is to press power key and the voice recorder key together, along with pushing your stylus into the bottom left reset button all at the same time. This will display the bootloader version to you. Just put it under the light to read. Once you have that then you can choose the proper revision in the kitchen. Unless you have a funky 6700 you should pick Standard for the RUU.

You dont need Activesync to build from the kitchen. When you put your 6700 into bootloader mode the OS will pick the USB connection up automatically...at least it should!

I hope this helps you get going. The kitchen is awesome and the guys are continually perfecting it. Should you have addtl questions please feel free to PM me.

Steve

Unfortunately, you DO need Activesync...Activesync installs the Windows drivers for the phone. You don't have to have activesync running to flash, but you do have to have it installed.

Ooops my bad I forgot the AS install gives you the USB functionality and support. My bad...sorry Chris for the one misleading piece of info. I try to make sure I am accurate.

I wish native support would be in the OS rather than AS...what a piece of crap software.

Well I plan to stick with the 6700 for quite some time. I am after the tethering ability. I really missed that after upgrading from my pre evdo phones.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

can't the sprint tv app for wm6 be ported over if your running the new wm6 for apache (I am clueless on this so it may be really obvious to anyone besides me why that can not work

I found the bootloader mode thanks to help in chat and its 2.02 and they too said to pick standard unless its funky or fails

Can I flash this to wm6 BEFORE I have ESN swapped or is that asking for trouble? (waiting for the ESN to clear and my trigger finger is getting itchy

also if the SHTF and I want to go "back" to wm5 is that even possible?
