Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

I don't sync with an Exchange server, but I think the battery drain seems to be more than with the 6.0 kitchen. Also, I noted near the beginning of this thread that the Data Connection icon on the status bar is always indicating ON.

Has anyone addressed the Data Connection icon behaving differently with the 6.1 kitchen?

For me, the drain is definitely internet connectivity that is constant, seemingly due to setting up Exchange push with activesync. However, unlike 6.0 or lower, 6.1 won't time the connection out. I think it's because there is a handshake issue with activesync. I've noticed that my Exchange account on my phone only works intermittently, and whenever I check the status it is always "connecting" never "connected" or "synchronizing". So the connection is constantly trying a handshake and can't get out of an 'active' mode. I've noticed this 'locks' in that status even when manually hitting send/receive. Note: this is only for syncing with a server such as Exchange push. All of my pop3 accounts or gmail accounts sync just fine.

So yes, the battery drain is due to connectivity.... however it's also related to an issue in 6.1, with active-sync and Exchange push.

Is it me or does it seem like you're slammin me for asking a legitimate question here. The excessive drainage is noticed when my phone is just lying dormate with little use. In about 4-5 hours I'm down to 30-40%. If I make a phone call, it's drained excessively. On a full charge after all night of charging if I take my phone off the charger and make a phone call I'm down to 60-70% battery life after the call. After two calls, then I'm down to about 40-50%. That's what I mean by excessive battery drainage. The only programs running are spb mobile shell 2.0. I have a bible program from olive tree and phm registry editor stored to my program memory and that's it. IF, and I say if, you didn't mean it that way then if you would, please try to help me. HOWEVER, if you meant it out of sarcasm then you really should reconsider your approach with people because after reading your comment it sounds really offense and all I was asking for was help. I didn't disrespect anyone in anyway, shape, or form. Otherwise, could you or some of your other colleagues please give me some much needed assistance with this problem please, thank you again

Nothing else at all? I took my phone off the charger at 6:30am this morning. No use all day, not even email (too many other things to do). When I looked at 10:30pm I still have 100% charge on my brand new battery. A few days ago, I had the HTC home plug in installed and the battery dropped like a rock. Maybe you should post your selections.txt and run power metering for a while to give the smart guys some data.

It's just you. By Show, what we mean is use acbpowermeter (found in ppcgeeks_oem.rar)to measure the power draw. People quoting better or worse power draw without the numbers to back it up is just a waste of our time to research.

Battery consumption while on the phone using the same dialer is unchanged in this release (neither the radio nor the dialers have changed).

okay, stupid question. Can the BuildOS tool also do a titan? I'm considering a 6800 and would love to use this on it.

WPA-PSK TKIP.
Anyone get this to work yet with 6.1? I have had to go back to WEP for now to get connected. Will not connect with WPA-PSK TKIP at all. Sets there and looks for ever and tells me wifi is available but can never get it to connect.
WM6.0 had no issues.

PPCfreak, I got the new Apache_Helmi WM6.rar from the ppckitchen dot org site, some ppl here have had problems with the updater, I personally prefer to d/l manually, go here ppckitchen dot org/downloads. I was able to get WPA-TKIP to work with no problem. A lot is dependent on your router, tho. Is this your network you are connecting to or your work/other?

I have 2 routers at work that are WPA-PSK TKIP and mine at home is the same.
