To answer your question, task 29 is not part of the ROM it's a separate process that you do before you flash a ROM, the file to task 29 is in this thread multiple times. go out to where you entered this thread and to the right of it you will see a paperclip, click that and you will see everything that's been uploaded to this thread and look for the file that you want.

Thanks everyone. I did read for hours on the XDA and PPCgeeks sites about Task 29, but there were contradicting posts. Several posts mentioned that TP2's cannot flash radios unless you are sim unlocked, and other posts contradicted that.... very confusing. As far and this post, I didn't have time to read through the 2500 pages!

I don't know if you are confusing things or not. Task 29 wipes your phone settings so that when you install a new ROM you are not carrying over any residual files from the last ROM, it's like formatting a hard drive before installing Windows.

Being sim unlocked <which the last time I checked you had to pay for> lets you flash new radio's, a caveat to that is like I said, if a new stock Sprint ROM came out and it had a new radio and PRL <roaming list> you could flash your phone to that ROM to get those two new items, then flash to a custom ROM and the radio and PRL would still be in the phone.

Soooo.... is NRG giving up on MaxSense? I finally got it working the I want and now he hasn't released a MaxSense ROM with the last couple of update rounds.

I don't think anyone will blast you for asking for people's opinions on things like Task29. Afterall, some swear by it and others do not. It's a legitimate question and that's what these threads are for.

[disclaimer - I'm not talking about any of your questions in the following] On the flip side, the people that have been following the thread for the whole 2,500 pages are getting sick of answering the same questions over and over. The keybord fix is in the FAQ but has still been posted 23 times and who knows how many times it's been referenced. There's probably 150 MMS-related attachments in this thread, but only a half-dozen unique cabs. Cut out even half of the duplicate requests and his thread would probably be half as long. Rant over.

Man, this new ROM (Energy.RHODCDMA.23673.Sense2.5.Cookie.Jul.17) is really giving me problems.
1) opening a text messages, goes to some other program first, then if I close that, it goes to the inbox, then you can open it again in another program that uses threading.
2) can't get ThrottleLock to work, use to work fine on NRG past ROM's
3) opera zoom doesn't work, I have to use the slide bar on the bottom of the phone.

Any help with any these problems would be appreciated.
