Great thinking! That very well could be it. I changed that setting a few days ago. I will do the registry edit and let you know.

I used this reg tweak, yesturday and noticed a big differance in battery life. I think this is the only one I haven't tried, till now. I also used ninja ducks cabs to disable services(all of them)..

Yesturday I took phone of charger at 6:30 am, and by 5pm I was down to 35% w/moderate use.

Today after doing "facedownmutering" reg edit I took phone off charger at 6:30am and by 5pm I'm at 60% w/moderate use and ran iGO (GPS) for 1/2 hour on the way home, which is usually a good battery drain.

So it definately got better. Will continue to test...

Basically, a memory leak is when programs or services running take up all the available memory to run programs. For example right when booting up the phone I have somewhere around 60-70k free memory. Later in the day then, I check back and I only have 20-30k free even though I have no additional running programs. I notice sluggish performance when this happens. It may adversely affect battery life as well.

I experienced problems with this as well a while back. It is definitely related to disconnecting the data with registry tweak done through advanced config or HD tweak. I'll see if I can find the post.

Regarding battery life and data disconnect. I did not have anything set to disconect data in a sense 2.1 build, and I had the best battery life I have ever experienced. This leads me to believe having the data automatically disconnect does not have significant impact on battery life. I could be wrong.

Haven't seen anything about a new ROM yet. Cookiemonster is a day or two away from cookie home tab 1.6. So that being said hopefully after that, so it will be cooked in
