Anyone have a cab for the slider in the phone??? I tried downloading the dll itself but windows wont let you rename or replace it.

Oh.. a word of note: our phones dont have memory sticks.. what you have left off your cards not taken by installed programs IS YOUR RAM.

I would have to say some would like cookie... some not only need them for work files etc, but they play games and other items so the multiple pages isnt a bad ides. Before jumping to custom roms, i found SPB Shell good for that.

Which slider did you need exactly?
The slider tab icons? Or the tab itself?
Or are you talking about something else?

Running Feb 16 Cookie 23539. Issues I'm having

1) I'm having serious lags in pulling from Gmail in Outlook (I have my work mail syncing with Activesync). It hangs in the "receiving headers" part and it takes minutes before it even begins to list the new emails, let alone download them and finish. Is this a Cookie issue or a ROM issue? Any fix?

Figured out # 2: You have to go into your Gmail settings through Outlook Express's Inbox; the setup through Sense is insufficient. OE's options also has the limits on amount of mail to pull by time and size.

#1 is still ridiculous. So slow. I added to require SSL on both incoming and outgoing mail, as Google recommends. I then timed how long it took Gmail to pull down THREE emails (with a 5kb max) from start to finish. It took two minutes and 31 seconds. These emails were all text. Never seen it take this slow. (Getting work email on my phone is instantaneous.)

I wouldn't care if I could use the Gmail Java app. But that still won't install.

BUT.. do you have the cab handy that makes the internet bar clear?

Refering to NRGZ post about HD2 & Sense 2.5.. He's been in the Kitchen a while now.. Think we will have a surprise?? Not sure if HD2 can be ported or not...

HD2 has been ported a lot already. That is where we originally started getting our 2.5 roms from.

No it isn't.

Our devices have 3 main areas of "memory"

There is non-volatile ROM, which includes what WM reports as "Storage" memory aka "\" (220 of 512 MB of this chip accessible for this purpose, the rest stores the ROM image I guess). This is where you store your files and install your applications to when you're not putting them on the SD. Data here survives power off/reset (minus hard reset which wipes this 220 MB "Storage" memory partition).

Then there is volatile RAM (180 of 288 MB accessible [~100 MB reserved for display rendering?]), which is what the OS and applications use to store their state and data in ("Program" memory). This is what gets used up as you run more and more applications. When you soft reset or turn off your device all data stored here is lost, it's the equivalent of a stick of RAM in your computer.

Then last but not least there is "external" storage, via the SD slot. If you're suggesting that Windows Mobile will map valid RAM addresses to unused space on your SD card for use as program running memory you've completely lost it.

Nice post nicely explained. HOW I WISH we could use our SD cards... Peeps said no.. I did try looking on net & it thought i was typing jibberish lol.
