Jan 7th Rom is not as stable as the past ones, does anyone have an idea when the next update will be released?

Today I'm serving up an HTC Touch Pro 2 CDMA ROM, based on Windows Mobile 6.5. The current build number and date can be seen in the title of the thread.

I build my ROMs with four main goals.

• Eye candy
• Speed !!!
• Smoothness, consistency and good aesthetics
• Stability through private beta testing before public release

I preconfigure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go, how I'd want it. So, expect the backlight to be set at the maximum brightness, the ringtone, sms/email and other notifications to already be set. Doing it this way, makes for a nice ROM that's ready out of the 'box'.

You will find a new ROM posted here every few days, as I always update them with the latest "ingredients" that come down the pipe, from either Microsoft or HTC. Because of that, I recommend learning to backup your settings with either Sashimi or UC (User Customization). I also provide an example script to use to save your email settings in one of the posts below.


You will find TWO core versions of my ROM.

• The 21891 Build is from the OEM COM2 Tree and is the most reliable and bug free release. I recommend you start with this first!

And...

• The 23529 Build that's the latest in the 6.5.5 series with the Start/Close buttons at the bottom. These builds are not as compatible with older apps as 21891 but they reflect the latest cutting edge technology from Microsoft.

Gps doesn't work most of the time after updating to the rom on feb 4th or 7th. phone has to be reset for it work most of the time. I use gps all the time and this is very annoying. I will probably have to switch to a rom other than energy unless anyone has a fix for this.

If anyone else uses SASHIMI and can't get it to automatically start when SDConfig UC happens (crashes on EXEC:\Temp\CreateShortcut.mscr) I have a cab I'd like for you to test.

Just drop it on your SD somewhere (root is fine) and add a CAB entry to your SDConfig.txt pointing to it. I recommend putting only low-level "core" cabs that don't change in your SDConfig (battery/kyboard/etc drivers, security certs, and this cab of course) and then everything else in SASHIMI's auto dir.

Here's my SDConfig.txt for example:

LOCK:Enabled
CAB: \Storage Card\SASHIMI\XDA_UC_CABS\sdkcerts.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\SASHIMI\XDA_UC_CABS\AG_Alt_SASHIMI_AutoRun_v-0.6.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\SASHIMI\XDA_UC_CABS\QM_TP2_Battery_Update_Verizon_USA_1.18.62316.1.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\SASHIMI\XDA_UC_CABS\EnergyROM Verizon Keyboard Fix.cab
LOCK:Disabled
RST: Reset

After UC is finished it will soft reset, and then should autorun SASHIMI in automatic mode on first boot.

All paths are hardcoded, this CAB assumes and requires that:
a) Your Windows path is '\Windows'
b) You're using SASHIMI 8.0, installed to '\Storage Card\SASHIMI'

Hope this helps someone else, it was driving me nuts trying to get it to work but it's solid now.

Have you guys seen this at XDA? Its a new UI thats being developed. The dev has been working on it for something like 2 years and it looks amazing! Definitely check out the youtube video. My mouth literally dropped to the floor looking at it. Unfortunately looks like its for the HD2 or something but maybe when its done it can be ported to the TP2.

Also, Boushh they have your tweaks up on the news page too. Good job! I dont know if youve posted anything about it here but there may be a few people that would check it out.

Not sure if this will help or not but i had a similar problem on those versions. I couldn't get a lock for the life of me. I use GPS all the time as well. It turns out that i had to do something i had never had to do before.

I opened start/GPS/HTC GPStool, set the baud rate to 115200 and hit start test. It litterally took over 10 minutes to get the first lock. I just let it keep running and after about 15 minutes or so it had locked on 8 satelites. I stopped the test and have not had any problems ever since. I am not sure why i had to do this or if it will help in your situation, but it may be worth a shot. I just figured i would post my experience since i was also convinced the GPS just didn't work. I fought with it for hours until doing the above which fixed the problem for me.
