Hey guys, so whats with the new kernal? I heard it was faster than before, but HOW much faster? Is it worth flashing for a new kernal? Any other significant changes?

Please convince me because my daring side says do it, but my logical side says stay with whats working... lol

Do it...or, I guess wait for the next release which should be out soon. A lot of little things work better now. ...but you need to flash to see for yourself.

I found that it is a problem with Sashimi and 6.5.x. Over at WinMo-Experts they are working on it. They hope to have a update out before Christmas. It has something to do with WM6.5.x UI being different.

THANKYOU! I thought it was me incorrectly setting up the software. I mean... how hard could it be... put a few cabs in a folder lol. Damn, smashing my head into the wall for nothing.

I've been having a small problem with text messaging... this time it's different from the usual.

Sometimes when I am receiving a text message, the "Loading Message..." thing will show up in the chat window, then the Messaging app will freeze, or it will freeze up the whole phone.

When I restart, the message is gone.

Anyone else having this issue?

Im on the 21869 build and sometimes when I receive a txt it will show that I received it an hour ahead of time. Ex. it is 1:30pm it will show I received it at 2:30pm. Whats the deal with that?

That is really weird that you are having so many issues with manila 2.1 especially considering you've flashed to stock and back. One last time-when you say you "flash and re-flash" you are talking about to Stock ROM and back, right?
For your ringer issue-have you tried just disabling the default dialer instead of Touchflo/Sense entirely? It's a wild guess but thought I'd through it out there.
Yeah, I see that momentary black screen with Opera 10-like you said-it's a beta.

Yes, by flash and re-flash I mean to stock and back. I'm not sure what is causing the ringer issue, this is with both the built in ringers and custom MP3/WMA ringers also. It's noticeably quieter. It's like it drops a few decibels in sound. This problem didn't start until I flashed the ROMs from November 9th. If I turn off Sense, the ringers are way louder (as intended). The only sounds not affected are the Notification sounds (ie, email, mms, text message, etc..) The ringer goes from low to loud as soon as the caller hangs up (the small delay from the hang up to the ringer ending). The LAUNCH Browser tab is broken in both the 21876 and 28004 builds even when I reinstalled Opera 10, it wouldn't work. I just read that NRG is uploading the 21877 build as I type this, so perhaps with it being a more stable ROM it will solve some of these hiccups. I'm not really complaining though, because the improvements in the New Kernal are much faster and make for an overall better phone experience, even if I have TouchFLO turned off.

You may have already done this, but did you check your time zone setting? I've never experienced any issues with times like that. Has anyone else had time stamp issues?
