Ok... Ive got the gps working on both my devices. But still cant get the location weather to work. it only updates on my phone when i change towns/towers. and still no luck even with changing radios. ive tried 3 so far but i'll keep trying. can i force it to update via gps?

Good Luck bro. Sounds similar to my issues. I have had no My location in weather.......unless I am roaming or on a good wifi signal. Makes no sense and I have tried every single fix I could find. I have tried multiple ROMs with variations of the fixes and so on and on......

Running: 25.Nov.2009_StandardM2.5

Issue: quick menu 2.7 not in remove programs list; can't install the "more finger friendly 2.8

advise?

The 2.1 files are in the hotfile as "standard", 2.5 manila ROMS are noted specificaly noted as such. I am on 28004 Manila2.5 (until 28005 drops TODAY) and it is the chitty chitty bang bang

Which build exactly are you trying/dealing with? Did you do a full flash dance, and a full MMS dance? Or have you done either? Have you used a carrier cab? Fill me in and we'll see what gives. It should work. No reason to run something else if you don't realy want/have to....

Also there will be more to try today.....

Ok update. no luck with radios. tried 6 total with same result. it will update if i turn the cell radio off and wifi on(with a network close of course). anybody else having this prob on vzw?

In past ROMs it was run as a cab upon the initial start up but now it appears to be cooked in so no removal and installing 2.8 has no effect as far as I can tell. The cooked in version is good IMO, but we've lost the ability to adjust the Menu Edge which gave more finger friendliness.

Yeah Bro, sorry didnt know you were on 21869, Chef said there were GPS issues with that one and hence the new ROM, you may have better luck with the new one.

well the gps works just not the weather. it will update across wifi and if i move towns/towers "sometimes".
