Doing the new wimax posted by OMJ earlier before he got some R&R. From ADB: Verify WiMAX Tag (HTC-WiMAX-SQN1130)........ PASS Read WiMAX partition ........ OK Check Firwmare Version (4.6.2.2v25043_) ........ 4.6.2.2v25043_ Not sure if I unlocked nand. Is this needed? I'm rooted via toasts first root method. Any way to force this update? |

Read OMJ's Post:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...&postcount=938 But as far as the potential fix is concerned they say you have to DL the wimax listed in Post 1. |

I was NOT in Recovery. Now I'm an adb n00b so while I can confirm we can write to /system I'm no expert in commands, codes, etc. Here's an example of how I moved Sprint TV from my SD card to /system/app: Opened a command window (Run...cmd...cd\) C:\>android-sdk-windows\tools\adb shell YOUR PATH WILL VARY $ su # mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system THIS MOUNTS /SYSYEM AS WRITABLE # cat /sdcard/Sprint_TV.apk > /system/app/Sprint_TV.apk # mount -o remount,ro -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system THIS RETURNS /SYSTEM TO READ ONLY (dont type the $ or #, that is what you'll see) EDIT: Run a mount command after typing su. You'll get a list of code that tells you which mtdblock your system is in. mtdblock4 is apparently the one used when you are booted into the system. My original post had mtdblock3 in the code but I changed it after some reading. I copied and pasted those commands and they worked, if they dont work for you try typing them out. This is just how to move a file to /system/app. I was just looking to prove we could do it in OMJ's 1.6 since the typical way seemed not to work. I dont know what this implies about the rest of the system. In messing around since I didnt know remove commands I simply removed other files from /system/app with Android Mate/delete. THAT was easy I'm not saying this is the only way or the best way, just something I researched and figured out. Last edited by iknowsquat; 07-02-2010 at 03:46 AM. |

OK so I'm not scared anymore I did the update but didn't use Nand backup so I had to restore everything manually. I'm lazy so can someone tell me how to properly use Titanium backup. By the way I'm in a 4G area and my 4G is working not any better than before but it's working. I installed the 1.6r update and the wifi addition.
