Hey wmdunn,

I have an oem for optional reg edits for cooking with the ppck, but how are you adding additional reg edits in this kitchen?

I have extracted a background.png from a cab and edited it with GIMP then put it back in the cab, repacked the cab, installed the cab but the png does not show up. I can't figure out why it will not show up.

Actually, I have been adding them post flash, but been thinking about putting them into a cab to run during customizations. I have never taken the time to learn sashimi, but I probably should. I know it's crazy, but I can make the dozen or so reg edits in just a couple of minutes.

What are you using to edit the cab? I use wince cab maker. To replace a file just open the cab, click on files on the left, delete the file you are replacing, and place your file in the cab. Make sure you have it being installed to the same directory (ie /windows or wherever) the original file was being installed to. This might be where you are going wrong if I had to guess as I've made that mistake before . Then you just save the cab.

Re: [ 11-10 ][ v4.2 ][ 6.5.x / 6.5 / 6.1 ] Calkulin's Visual VGA Kitchen & ROMs

I've been running a 23064 build from the v4 kitchen for the last several weeks, and have been quite happy with it.

Now trying a 23506 build from the 4.2 kitchen (similar packages selected), and a couple of concerns:

- Data connection seems noticeably slower
- Power consumption definitely higher -- battery gauge drops fast, and phone is hot.

Any similar experiences?
Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I have followed all 6.5.1 builds, and 23506 is decent. I ran Opera 9.7 from the VK42, and this is extremely slow on data download. Had to switch to 9.5. (gave up on 9.7 many builds ago for slow data downloads). On my battery, I have been watching it lately and noticed it drain a bit quicker than usual, but battery is a year old and never sure what causes it. Other than that, thinsg seem normal.
BTW: I also had 23064 when it came out, and was very happy with it. I tend to get greedy and want to try the newer builds).
