You can try the photoshop manupilation on teh original ("blank") photo and adjust some of teh settings to get a real uniform grey area. If needed get to 16 bits mode. Most essetntial is the color blend with the negative colors of your sensor. It works great for me. (but I prefer a correct sensor).

BTW I don't have verzions. I live in the Netherlands and have a i900 form Vodafone.
