Metro won't do it but you can flash it yourself or have someone do it for you. There are many here that have done it though and plenty of tutorials here to tell you how. As long As its flashed to metro when you go in they'll take it. They'll port your number too.

Just checked today on the phone claim site and they indeed have my fiancee touch to be replaced with a Touch diamond. But I got a message in the end of the process that I need to call for verification. Fiancee hates getting on the phone at all with customer service. I guess who does?

just ordered my replacment for $50.00 touch diamond.. nice.

no new contract. WOW!!!! thanks for this post.. all the sprint stores i talked to said no way, my phone would be repleaced with a the same phone i have.. ( htc touch )

Yeah, I filed a claim last month on my Touch because I fell and cracked my screen, did it online, and it said I was going to receive a reconditioned Touch, had to fill out an affidavit and fax it vack to Asurion along with a copy of my driver's license. Everything went through, but I waited to complete my claim because I had a friend who was going to replace my lcd screen at no charge, but his store can't get the part in at the moment, so this morning I called Asurion back and completed my claim, and I was told that I'm receiving a brand new in the box Touch Diamond because the Touch is no longer available. Wow, does that mean the Touch has reached its end-of-life?

THanks for the info.. I was just going to take my phone to the sprint store because it has been screwing up lately... Now my brand new 6950 Diamond is on its way.. unfortunately I probably wont be able to use all of my old apps from my Touch though.. OH Well

Does filling out the claim form online disable your current Touch until the replacement Diamond arrives? I want to take advantage of this before the deductible goes up but don't want to be without a phone for a few days until the new one gets here.

No! Your phone will work untill you activate the new one, which you can do online very easy at sprint.com/activate

P.S. Did I mention I'm Lovin my new Diamond!!
