Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
if they charge me, i send it back.doesn't hurt to try. You can also send back their "prepaid envelope" with nothing inside. You just wet the seal so it will not seal to the envelope..write down the tracking number and drop it in the mail box. you have proof of delivery, what happened after you put it in the mailbox is not your problem..hahaha...straight to hell i go! haha

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
If you dont return the old phone, it will be listed as a BAD ESN and you WILL be charge.
My brother replaced his Touch Pro 1 back in March, forgot to send it back and he got a charge of like $300+ on his Sprint bill. You dont want to go through that and calling into Sprint to take care of "mistake" that you made because you didn't want to send back your old phone. People dont think now a days. Why would they let you keep your old phone and get another phone in return? You can take a gamble and not return it but don't say that I told you so.

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
if they don't charge me, they won't block the esn either..if they charge me, it doesn't matter...i don't give them that much credit, really. you think after the 15 days the esn gets shut off? they have to manually do this i think and anything requiring manual work has a good chance of just not getting done...unless they charged my account $300 up front pending a $200 credit upon receipt of the phone (the way they should do it), I am keeping it.

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
Listen, I need that $100 a lot more than sprint does. So having them credit me back is ok with me. I know keeping the phone is greedy, but it is worth a shot. I have nothing to loose. They charge me $300, then guess what, they get the phone back in a few days. They don't charge me, then all the better. Any of you that are filing a claim for your "bad" TP1 are no different. I am just taking it to the next level..hahaha
and what a joke how asurion has you sign an affidavit...like that has some clout or something? who do they think they are, the FBI? All scare tactics... I love how they all say "oh, i am so sorry to hear about your damaged phone". What are they trying to make me feel bad or something for taking advantage of them? I'm like Shut the F up and get my phone out to me already, enough of the gilt tripping. A few reps even asked me how it was damaged, I was like go read my affidavit you freaking gestapo. I wanted to say if this phone call takes any longer, it will be totally damaged after it is removed from your ***. Last edited by downtick; 10-27-2009 at 11:07 AM. |

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
Ok, finally. Called in, talked to the rep, nice girl - played dumb and said "my order is still showing as 'in process' and I was told the TP2 was being ordered. Can you check the status?" She said the ticket was not placed but just in an open status right now, all she can offer is the TP since it's in stock. I asked to speak to a supervisor. When she came on I said the same thing, was promised a TP2 when it came back in stock, etc... Long story short, she said both the TP and TP2 are in stock right now (9:45 Central Time) and she placed an order for a BNIB TP2, shipped overnight. my advice... be polite!
UPDATE: Well I went from famine to feast. Got the TP2 ordered through Asurion, tracking number and everything - then on the way home yesterday the local Sprint store called and said they had a BNIB TP2 available for exchange, come on in! So, now I have a new TP2 in hand and one on the FedEx truck today for delivery. Luckily they charged the $100 to my Sprint account so I may be able to get the Sprint store to credit my account and send back the TP2 Asurion sent. Anyway, it's definate that TP2s are being offered as replacements for TP1s and the only hold up seemed to be in stock or out of stock status. Good luck guys! see ya in the TP2 forum!
