So you didn't keep the original battery? I'd try sending it in w/o a battery... Not sure if they'll appreciate that tho.

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2

Damn, 2:20 PM Pacific and they still won't give me an option for a tp2. Could is possibly be that since the claim was open when tp's were the only option that it still shows that when reps try to complete the claim?

I think I might just go for it. I know some people were getting the tp2 even though Asurion said the tp. Either way, if I get a tp and it screws up I can go to a sprint store. If it doesn't screw up then I can be happy with my tp working, but I doubt that will happen.

Seems like online claim is the way to go, I just wish it let me do that!

Thanks for the updates all!

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2

I filed my claim on-line at 2pm EST today and only had the option for the TP2. Battery/charging port was bad. I called to speak to them about the claim first but we never got to the point of discussing replacement phones. When I went on-line my claim was already in process.

I probably have it in a closet or box somewhere but knowing me i would never find it again...

What about other accessories that came with the device? I definitely don't have those any more. And SD card? I upgraded mine and took out the old one, can I keep it?

I know I know, I should probably call and ask them but I just figured someone around here might know how this works.

@ lucjoe, you only send back the phone and battery cover, not the battery.

NO! this is not true! I keep getting and option for tp until I got an option for a HTC 7380 so, I called Asurion and ask the rep what model that was and he said tp2! I did know want the hell that was. I know the model # by HTC 6875 not HTC 7380! keep trying online it will change.

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2

Thanks for the info! Unfortunately I can't do online as it asks me to call in and verify or I would definitely be trying every night to see if online would give me a tp2 :P

It told me the same thing after trying it so many times. However, I called in at 2am, when the offices were closed (I didn't know), typed in all of my information, and it seemed to "reset" my online claim so I could proceed online. You may want to try the same.

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2

as of 9:00 pm
The replacement option for your insured phone is a HTC 7380. This Model is selected based on comparable features and functions of your insured phone. A charger will be included with your replacement phone.
